Rally Day Celebration,
both to take place in the CE ANNEX
THIS SUNDAY, 10:00 am
|
Friends,
This Sunday is Rally Day but what is rally day? It is, in the Church's tradition, the start-up of Sunday school after a summer break. Public schools are in full swing and our Sunday School, Dove Choir and Youth Connection are ramping up as well. Rally day is a time when we look forward to seeing the faces of lots of young people and their parents as they come back to the various ministries for our youth at PPPC. This Rally Day worship will be held in the Education Building, the Annex, at 10 am. The Doves will be sharing with us their love of singing. And don't we all LOVE to hear them sing! Our wonderful Chancel Choir will be singing as well and the two choirs will sing one anthem together. This Rally Day service is geared to feature the God-given talents of our young people. We will be hearing from some of the youth who are part of Youth Connection and from the younger children in our fantastic Sunday school and Dove Choir. Come support the youth of PPPC. Come support the leaders of the youth ministries. Come learn what exciting plans are in place for our kids. Who knows, you may get so excited about what you see and hear you might actually volunteer to be part of this vibrant ministry at PPPC. Now wouldn't that be grand! Just to put the icing on the cake, there will be food - of course! After worship we will share in a barbeque lunch hosted by the Kitchen Committee. You don't want to miss this special Sunday, the kick off our new educational year for kids. Whether you're young or young in heart, show your support, show your love. Come.

Point Beach Prep begins its 7th year when classes begin this Monday. We are looking to another successful year under Director Devlin House.
A Prayer for the Little Ones God of all mercies,
We ask that you would bless the youngest and littlest of learners
with your infinite and loving mercy
granting them strength to learn, and act in love
towards their teachers and fellow students.
We also ask that you would watch over them,
at home and at school
and give them proper direction
so that they may learn
of your wonderful virtues.
We thank you for the promise
and excitement that comes with a new school year.
Thank you that You make all things new and You give us fresh starts in life.
May Your love and grace fill all students, teachers and parents today and always. Amen.

PDA Volunteer Recognition Dinner and Care for the Caregivers Workshop Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA) is doing a wonderful thing for volunteers from our church who have helped provide hospitality through the Volunteer Village. They're holding a Volunteer Recognition Dinner and a Care for the Caregivers workshop the next day. You can attend either or both of these events.
The Volunteer Recognition Dinner will take place in the Education Annex on the evening of Saturday, September 26 at 6:00 pm. Food will be provided by Joe Leone's, and the program will be provided by PDA representatives.
On the next day, Sunday, September 27, 1:00-4:30 pm, following lunch at 12:00 noon in the PPPC Education Annex, PDA will offer a Care for the Caregivers Workshop. Participants in this informative and inspiring event will gain an understanding of the causes and effects of compassion fatigue; understand why self-care isn't enough; and learn powerful tools to immediately integrate into their lives.
Another, longer Care for the Caregivers workshop is taking place at the Morning Star Presbyterian Church, Bayville, on Friday, September 25, 8:30 am - 4:00 pm.
Invitations have already gone out in the mail for these events. If you believe you should have received an invitation but didn't, please call the church office.
An email has also gone out that includes links for a Survey Monkey online response form that PDA is using to keep track of the RSVPs. If you can't find your email, please call the church office.
