This Sunday's weather is shaping up nicely.  The forecast calls for clear skies with the temperature in the mid 70s going up to the low 80s.  Perfect weather for a picnic!

Please join us this Sunday, August 9 for the Point Pleasant Presbyterian Church's Annual Picnic. It's being held at YMCA Camp Zehnder (right at the boundary-line between Brick and Wall Townships) from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.   We encourage you to come at 10:00 for the informal worship service (we won't be having worship in the church Sanctuary that day), but in fact you can arrive and depart at any time that's convenient.

Everyone's welcome, members and friends of the church alike! Please spread the word... 

In VBS this week, the children have been sharing God Sightings as part of their lesson each night. It's a great thing for everyone to do! The VBS children will also be sharing songs from their week. Following the service everyone can then pursue their favorite activities.  

The pool is always filled with the shouts and giggles of children of all ages as they splash, swim, and enjoy coming down the slide.   Red Cross Certified Life Guards from Camp Zehnder are always alert keeping a close eye on the activities.  There are changing rooms, showers, and FLUSH toilets located next to the pool (we're not roughing it). 

There is a reason why some never miss the picnic, because nobody puts out a spread of food like Point Presbyterian! Hot dogs, hamburgers, rolls, and all the fixings - along with lemonade, water and iced tea - will be provided by the church. Paper products will also be supplied.  Each guest/family, please bring a side dish, salad, or dessert to share.  

We will once again have the catch-and-release fishing in the pond.  If you have fishing equipment, you can bring it along.   If you don't, poles, bait, and instruction will be there for your use.  Mr. Bob loves to help the children catch and release their fish.  This is always a popular activity.

Adults enjoy being active with softball or horseshoes.  Some just enjoy watching the younger ones and their energy.  Board and card games are always popular with the young at heart. 

So pack up your bathing suits, towels, pool toys, a dish to share, folding chairs, sunglasses, hats, and smiles and join us for a fun-filled day enjoying God's gift of nature with your family and friends. There is a large roofed pavilion that will provide plenty of shade.  

We do not have a per person charge for attending the picnic; however, in order to cover the cost of the facility rental and provided food, we ask each family to please make a free-will donation to help cover the expenses.
