Weekly News for

Sunday,

March 15, 2015

Preaching this Sunday is the Rev. Merideth Mueller, who for nine years served as pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Tuckerton. Like our church, the Tuckerton congregation was seriously affected by Superstorm Sandy, with many church members displaced from their homes for extended periods. Merideth spearheaded relief efforts of various kinds, the most enduring of which was a soup-to-go ministry that delivered food to a great many people who had only limited cooking facilities.

Merideth is currently serving the Presbytery of Monmouth, in a special Sandy Advocacy ministry. What does she do as a Sandy Advocate, you may be wondering? Well, you'll have to come to worship on Sunday and find out! (It has a lot to do with speaking up for those recovering from the storm whose voices are seldom heard.)

Come to the Waters - The 2015-2016 Horizons Bible Study

Come to the Waters by the Rev. Judy Record Fletcher is the Horizons Bible Study for 2015-16. The lessons of the study feature stories and images of water in the Bible. Just as water nourishes our bodies, so the passages on water nourish our spirits. The study opens with the chaotic waters of Creation and ends with the River of Life in the Revelation to John. Baptism, the absence of water, and streams of mercy are some of the other lesson themes.

The full program begins with dinner on TUESDAY and ends with lunch on THURSDAY. Registration and check-in will start on Tuesday at 4:00 PM.

Cost covers meals and a shared double room in one of our lodges. If requested at registration, a limited number of private rooms may be available at an additional cost.  A flyer  is also available.

Call 845-786-5674 x 107 with any questions.
