Dear Confirmation Parents and Young People,

It's Confirmation Time!

Confirmation Dove, animated We'll soon be starting up the Confirmation Class, which will meet on Sunday evenings from 5:00-6:00 pm. Young people 7th grade and older are most welcome to attend!

I'll be teaching the class myself, assisted by Elder Dale Leasure.

There will be 8 meetings of the class altogether - not every week, but fairly regularly  - between now and Pentecost, May 24th (which is the actual date Confirmation will take place in our morning worship service). The full schedule is printed below.

A highlight of the Confirmation program is the Confirmation Retreat, held at Presbyterian Camp Johnsonburg, and involving young people and their advisors from all over the state. The way the dates fall this year, we'll be starting the retreat almost immediately - which means it will be, for us, an important group-building activity.

In past years, Confirmation Class members have come back really pumped from the retreat, It's an experience not to be missed!

We'll be starting out with an informational meeting for parents and young people: Sunday, February 22 at 11:15 a.m. in the Christian Education Annex.

What Is Confirmation?

Confirmation Confirmation is a very special rite of the church, by which young people "confirm" the promises their parents made for them at the time of their baptism. In the event that any class members have not been baptized, they will be baptized as adults on the day of Confirmation.

Confirmation classes are a time to learn about the Christian faith, ask questions about it - and no question is off-limits! - and have a good time together.
