Dear Friends,
Good things often happen in a walk along the sea.
We who live at the Shore know that from experience... how, walking along the shoreline, the mind clears, the heart thrills to the natural beauty all around.
For Simon and Andrew, James and John, the touch of the wind and the crash of the waves meant something very different. They fished for a living. The sea was a place of labor, of striving - and, as often as not, of disappointment.
As they were doing their work, a man came up to them. "Come, follow me," he said. And they did.
Mark's spare encounter supplies scant detail. Did they get up, just like that, and leave their former lives behind, with nothing more than one man's spoken invitation? Was Jesus' personal charisma so undeniable, they had no choice but to follow?
The details may be sketchy, but there's one thing we can say for sure: it was personal. Those men forged a personal relationship with this man who became their rabbi, their master, their friend.
Life in Christ's church is personal as well, in just that way. We know him, and so we know one another in ways deeper and richer than any other community in which we may find ourselves.
On this congregational meeting Sunday, we explore Christ's call in our lives. It's personal!
Pastor Carl

Sunday Sunday Recap
Last week: Bible Verse: Luke 3:1-18, Mark 1:1-11
Last week was all about baptisms. We found out that almost everyone has had the privilege of attending a baptism. We talked about what baptisms are all about and we discussed the reasoning behind Jesus insisting on being baptized by John. Our craft was to remind us that, even though we were all baptized as babies, we still make the decision to keep Jesus in our hearts.
This week: Bible Verse: Luke 19:1-10This week we are going to talk about Zacchaeus. We have all encountered someone who has been mean to us on more than one occasion. Whether it was a kid on the bus, a person we used to be friends with, a bully at school- we have all been picked on repeatedly. Zacchaeus was a little man, but he was a bully just the same. We are going to talk about why Jesus forgave Zacchaeus, why He encourages us to forgive those who have made mistakes, and how it will help us be better people while fostering our relationship with God.
There will be an extended Sunday School to allow parents to attend the Congregational Meeting. See you on Sunday! Peace and Blessings Tricia Stoffers
