Communion Bread & Wine

Dear Friends,

It can't be! July already???? Next thing you know it will be Labor Day and then Christmas, or so it seems to me. Life just is whizzing by and there are days when I struggle to keep up. I also seem to have entered that time of life when more and more doctor appointments need to be worked into my schedule. How did this happen and when?

The truth is that I can bemoan the fact of my aging and the brevity of life or I can embrace where I am in life as another phase of life's journey.  I can celebrate the grace of God that sustains me and the daily blessings poured out upon me.

It takes living with an open heart to be mindful of the gifts we all receive from God each day. It takes a conscious effort to find a blessing that is often hidden in the sorrow and tragedy that comes our way.  Jesus said, "Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."

This Sunday come join us as we worship God and draw upon the peace and the strength that is available to us as we celebrate communion together. No matter where you are in life, you are invited to the table which Jesus has prepared for us. Come, be refreshed and renewed, be blessed and strengthen as we travel together in this journey called life.

Join the "Flash Choir" This Sunday

We invite anyone who would like to be part of an informal pickup "Flash Choir" this Sunday as part of our Special Music.  Join us for a rehearsal prior to the start of the service. We will be singing two well known songs.  Please meet at 9:30 am in the sanctuary for a relaxed practice.   We will sing during the 10 a.m. service. All are welcome to sing in praising our God with music.
NEED TO COOL OFF AFTER CHURCH?

Join us after worship for Sundae Sunday in the Chittick Lounge. On the first Sunday of the month - Communion Sundays - during July, August and September we will be making ice cream sundaes as part of our fellowship. You won't want to miss the delicious treat!

The Prayer Family for the week of July 6 is the Smith family. Let us be prayerfully aware of Scott and Carole, as well as all our members and friends.

Vacation Bible School August 18-22

Point Pleasant Presbyterian Church is happy to provide a Vacation Bible School in the air-conditioned Education Annex this Summer. Preparations for this fun-filled week are now being made. This program is for all children who have finished grades Pre-K through 5 and is open to kids from the entire community.

Join us as we go to Rome this Summer! They've captured Apostle Paul and he's in prison in Rome. So, we're going to visit him to cheer him up, as well as seek out the underground church - you know, a secret church where the Christians are worshiping Jesus.

Bring your friends as we explore ancient Rome from 6-8 pm. Our adventure will begin and finish downstairs in the CE Annex classrooms. Registration Forms can be downloaded or picked up in the Narthex and returned to the church office.

We could use help in the planning and during the week. Please email Christina Parrott and let her know you can help. Teen helpers are especially welcome!

Here is what goes into the kit:
