Dear Friends, This Sunday we will be receiving special envelopes for Blanket Sunday. This offering will go to Church World Service which sends blankets, tool and money all over the world to help those who live in poverty as well as those who's lives have been upended by natural disasters. In looking at the information provided by CWS, I see that they now call this offering Blankets+. In addition to providing heavy, utilitarian blankets which can be used for warmth, shelter, to carry a child, food and water, CWS provides tools for the building of homes and for agricultural purposes and for digging of a well so that villagers can have safe, clean water for drinking. CWS has traditionally stressed the giving of $5 citing it as the cost of a blanket. I am not sure if this still is true and I would encourage those who can do so to give more than that. It is amazing how much $5 can still do in today's world - give life and hope to people around the world. See you in Church this Sunday. Peace and Blessings, Linda
