Just like in the Otis Redding song, I'm sitting on the dock of Monterey Bay after our Cooking for Solutions event at the aquarium. It was incredibly rewarding to host so many guests in our new café and restaurant, Cindy's Waterfront, and do our part to promote food sustainability. I hope you'll come see us soon. We've been serving monk fish, new to the Seafood Watch recommended list, and local King Salmon is now in season now.
BottleRock was an amazing kick-off to a season of music in the Napa Valley. We're keeping it real with live music on the patio at CP's Wood Grill starting this week on June 6th and every Thursday evening through September. Check out the great line-up. Well behaved dogs are welcome. (There have been lots of adorable pups on the patio already.)
Our new chef de cuisine at CP's, Brian West, who hails from some great restaurants in Sonoma County, is another great reason to come in for a meal. And this month's Saturday evening Vintner Splash features an amazing group of vintners. Get in here!
Supper Club at Cindy's Backstreet Kitchen is a return to México. Tantalize your taste buds every Wednesday and Thursday this month with dishes like Chiles en Nogada - poblano chiles filled with shredded meat and aromatics topped with a walnut-based cream sauce. It's one of my personal favorites. Dustin has added some lovely summer wines like Sinskey's Pinot Gris and Mueller Family Vineyard's Stars & Goats Sauvignon Blanc. Ahhhh...
Our BIG news is Mustards Grill's 30th birthday! Join us for the greatest hits from the past 30 years throughout the month, and top it off with Cake, Rattle & Roll - a different irresistible cake each day leading up to the anniversary on June 16. All three restaurants are in on the sweet fun. Join the daily faithful and earn a gift certificate at Mustards.
The fig trees we planted last year in our Mustards garden now tower above me, so get ready for delicious grilled fig dishes later this month. The season's tomato and corn plants are already reaching for the sky and it reminds me that my Father's Day tribute to my late Dad is continuing his beautiful legacy of a summer vegetable garden.
