at Young Harris College for the upcoming month.

My first encounter with Young Harris College was as a senior at Cartersville High School. I had narrowed my college decision down to Auburn and Clemson, but decided to take one last college tour at the urging of friends who had already chosen YHC. Once I arrived on campus, it was clear why they chose Young Harris over many of the nearby large universities. I immediately felt the friendliness and sense of community that my friends had described to me from their visits. As I toured the campus and met several students who described their college experiences to me, my choice was made. I would attend Young Harris College.

I graduated from Young Harris in 2007 with an associate degree in business. As a student, my time was spent enjoying the outdoors, both on campus and in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains surrounding the school. I also stayed busy as the president of Kappa Tau Omega fraternity, gentleman of the Phi Delta sorority and a member of the Spat Club. After graduating from YHC, I enrolled at the University of Georgia (go Dawgs!) where I graduated in 2009 with a bachelor's degree in management. I now live in Buckhead and work as a recruiter for a technology consulting company.

Little did I know that when I chose Young Harris, I was making one of the best decisions of my life.

Alumni Spotlight: Carole Morgan

For many alumni, attending Young Harris College is a family tradition. This is certainly true for Oglethorpe County native Carole Morgan, '58, who was encouraged to check out YHC by her aunt Mildred Morgan Bradford, '33. While she had already been accepted to the University of Georgia, Morgan soon set her sights on a small college in the north Georgia mountains. "I just decided I could not be happy at such a big school, and attending YHC was one of the best decisions I had ever made," Morgan explained. "I liked the fact that it was a small college, and that the professors treated students as individuals and took a personal interest in everyone. I also knew it would be easy to make friends in such a close-knit environment." Read more>>
