Facing the Giants

One of my favorite television shows in the 90s was American Gladiators. For those who don't know, this show was a Sports game show in where contenders would battle in 5 events against the battle ready and tested, hulky and fit gladiators. The gladiators' jobs were to prevent the contenders from scoring points, a real David and Goliath contest. Time after time, the gladiators would win their events or even draw (which was a feat in itself) but every now and again, the contender would beat the behemoth in a test of speed and strength. It seems that we as a church are like facing the giant gladiators. Maybe you might be facing a 'gladiator' in your life. Here's a great reminder from the Lord: God is there with you and will help you face the giants as long as you trust in Him. We don't have to fight alone in the arena. We are never alone. God isn't going anywhere, we've only got to trust in Him. When we are charged up by Him, we can take down the giants.

This Week at Grace Community 
This week is a special one at Grace Community. We will have our annual church meeting in where We will discuss the past year and look forward to the year ahead and vote for the new church board for 2016. Pastor Matt will be sharing his 2015 report and will be bringing the Word of the Lord to us. Pray that the Spirit of the Lord will sweep over all of us!
Family Movie and Potluck Dinner Night
Next Saturday, January 30th, we will have a Family Movie and Potluck Night! We will be watching the movie "War Room", a movie based on prayer. Dinner wise, we've got the ham and turkey, what we need from you is your favorite side dish!

Student Ministries News 
It's week three of our discussion on purpose. Tonight, we talk about using what we are good at and doing it for the Lord. What are the talents that God has given you? How are you using them for the Lord?

We are also planning on going to Bensalem next Tuesday for some laser tag action! Would you like to go? Talk to Pastor Matt for more information. 
Prayer Requests and Praises
Linda Moore had surgery last week and is recovering at the Capital Health Hopewell Hospital. She's recovering, but it's slow goings. She's in a lot of pain, but is optimistic about the recovery. 

Keep praying for the Griffis as they still recover. MIriam is looking a lot better, but since Linda has been in the hospital, it's been a hard few first few weeks into 2016. 

We've got some exciting news to report this week at church regarding our incoming interim pastor. However, let us continue to keep the entire process for selecting the new Senior Pastor. 

Keep these and the unspoken prayer requests that we have as a church in our hearts and minds this week.
