Grande Est Dieu's Fidélité

This past weekend, different tragedies stuck our world. There were attacks in Paris, France, Beirut, Kenya and the list goes on. There was an earthquake in Japan as well. It seems that we cannot turn on the news and find something good or uplifting or awe-inspiring. My heart breaks for this world and what has happened. My heart breaks for what is going on our own shores right now, which makes some people angry, fearful and lost or without hope.

Yesterday, on a singing competition show, "The Voice", one of the contestants sang a beautiful rendition of Great is Thy Faithfulness. On a show in where people vote for the best voice and talent, this contestant chooses to state his claim that no matter what is going on, where he his and what he's doing, or how famous he could be, Great is God's Faithfulness towards me.

It seems that the world is exploding right now. The Lord is faithful and just. May we remember that all that we need that God will supply. May we surround our brothers and sisters in need and listen to them, yet remind them in our actions that God is there and He listens. Great is His faithfulness to us.

Thanksgiving Dinner - Sunday, November 29
An all church Thanksgiving dinner is being planned for after morning worship on Nov. 29.  The turkey and all the trimmings will be provided. We would appreciate you bringing your favorite side dish, veg., salad, dessert, rolls!  Whatever is special to you! Something that is convenient for you would be great so that we can all appreciate this time of giving thanks for all God is, has been and promises to be. Please see Sandi Weyna or JoAnne Oliver for any information!

Student Ministries News
Last week was beautiful. Pastor Matt had a plan and a two part series on Thanksgiving and...the presence of the Lord was there directing us to go to a different place. So...this week, we begin a two week series on Thanksgiving. Should we embrace it? Why do we need to be thankful? What does being thankful actually mean in our everyday life in the first place? In any notion, let's let the Lord lead our conversation and watch us grow!

This Sunday, our Festival of Life Showcase will be up and about! Shannon Seich and Karly Grace Millar will be sharing their pieces for the photography competition at Festival of Life next weekend!

God is working in the lives of our teens and kids!

What Christmas Means to Me
nativity_scene.jpg
We are a church filled with stories. It's a blessing that we have many cultures and many different backgrounds from different eras, areas and regions.

Christmas time could mean something different to all of us. The coming of Christ could mean so many wonderful things, bring up many different memories about how you celebrate, remember or a tradition that you might have.

Each week in December, Grace Happenings would like to invite you to share what Christmas means to you in the Left Hand Devotional section. Contact Pastor Matt here if you would like to find out how to join in.
