From Pastor Matt
 
Four years ago this month, I got a phone call from someone that I haven't seen in a year.Pastor Wes called me. To this day, I'm not exactly sure how he got my number.

He asked me what my plans were in the fall and genuinely I had no real plan. I was probably going back to New York and find a job there while attempting to find a teaching job or something. Maybe even attempting to go back to Eastern Nazarene for a desk job. He asked me if I would consider becoming a youth and children's pastor.

At first, I said no.

I wasn't trained formally. I wasn't thinking about full time ministry. However, after losing a shouting match with God, I stepped out in faith and look at us now. Nearly four years in and I have never been so much in love with what I do.

I get a front row seat at God's handiwork.

Now with Pastor Wes gone, we are at a stage in where we must step out in faith and trust in Him. It's new, different and it's uncomfortable.
However, if we step up to the plate, step out in faith and pray, God w
ill
 bring His person to lead this church.

I know that God will lead us in this new adventure for our church. May we trust Him with all we've got and pray and listen for His direction!
This Sunday at Grace Community
 So now what's next? That might be the question on some people's minds now that Pastor Wes is no longer the pastor of our church. He has meant so much to this church and has been faithful to the Lord in leading our congregation, but the Lord has called him to take on Front Step Inc. starting in September.

The Lord is not done with us! Join us on Sunday as Pastor Matt brings the word of the Lord to us. Praise God for what He is going to do in the life of Grace Community!
Next Steps of Pastoral Selection Process

The process for the selection of our next Senior Pastor is underway! Please keep the Pastoral Selection Committee that consists of our church board and select members of the congregation in prayer as this week we have an interview. God will lead us to His person to lead Grace Community if we stay faithful and true to His Word and call. 
Student Ministries News
#yoGo Teen Ministries is gearing up for a great school year! Our youth leadership team will be meeting on Wednesday of next week to fill up the calendar with different ministry opportunities, events and district events. We will start the 2015-2016 school year youth group on September 9th with a back to school theme. 

If you know of teens between 7th and 12 grade that would like to participate in Teen Bible Quizzing, please contact Pastor Matt!

Children's Quizzing is already underway! They are studying Joshua, Judges and Ruth. Would your child(ren) like to participate? Contact Pastor Matt for information

We are in need of volunteers for different student ministries areas! Please contact Pastor Matt for more information!
Momentum 2015
Every year, the Philadelphia District has a one day training and discipleship event for every member of a congregation. From the worship leaders to the finance team, the church board to the associates and senior pastors, people will travel to learn about how they can be used by God to make an impact in their homes, families and in their local churches. If you would like to be a part of this event, please contact Pastor Matt. It will be held on Saturday, October 24 starting at 8:30 till 4 pm.
