"Kids!"

Vacation Bible School week--one of my favorite weeks of the year!

The first evening we had some kids come who had never been to Grace Community Church before.

Frankly, it looked like they were not wanting to come, but were under parental pressure.

By the end of the evening every one of those were wearing big smiles and as happy as could be.  On the second evening, tose same kids came running into the church. What a change!

What made the difference?

I'd like to think the change was becausee they experienced a great time with people who really cared about them.

Isn't it amazing how love and care can break down the barriers and change the attitudes?

Is it really so different with anyone we meet?

If we show the love and care of Christ, perhaps many scared and hurting people would have a profound change.

This Sunday, July 26, 2015 --VBS Sunday!
Vacation Bible School closing will be this Sunday.  Come out and support the children and workers who have shared great ministry this week.

Work Progressing on the Property
This week we are beginning the work needed for the underground gas lines which have had a water problem. The gas company did an inspection on Monday and determined that their supply lines were intact, so the leakage issues must be related to the lines owned by GCCN.  Within the next few days the excavation will begin to repair this problem.   Work is also progressing on the replacement of the smoke detectors.

Thank again you to every person who gives of their time to participate in these tasks! Donated time and labor is saving the Church thousands of dollars.  There is, however, increased costs at this time to address these issues, so any extra that you can give will be a big help! Thanks to all who give faithfully and sacrificially.
Farewell Dinner

There will be a farewell dinner on Saturday, August 22nd at 5:30 pm as the ministry of Pastor Wes draws to a close.

We do need to get an accurate count of how many will be able to attend, so please either put your name on the sign-up sheet at church or send an email to Pastor Wes at RWTink01@gmail.com.

Transition, Participation and Leadership
As we go through this days of pastoral transition, it is vital that every member of the GCCN congregation assist that all goes well.

What can you do?
1.)  Pray fervently for the Church;

2.) See ways of participating in extra ways. How wonderful it is when someone comes to a Church leader and asks: "What can I do, how can I help?"  Wonderful words to hear!

3.) Think about participating in leadership in a new way.  Do you have gifts and talents that are not being adequately utilized for the Lord and His Church?  Put those to use!  It will bless you and others!

Truth From God's Word
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.  Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears.  When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.   --1 Corinthians 13:4-13
