"  Psalm 33 "

Sing joyfully to the LORD, you righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise him.  Praise the LORD with the harp; make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre.  Sing to him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy. For the word of the LORD is right and true; he is faithful in all he does. 


 

The LORD loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of his unfailing love. By the word of the LORD were the heavens made, their starry host by the breath of his mouth.  He gathers the waters of the sea into jars; he puts the deep into storehouses.


 

 Let all the earth fear the LORD; let all the people of the world revere him.  For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm. 


 

The LORD foils the plans of the nations; he thwarts the purposes of the peoples.  But the plans of the LORD stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations. 

Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people he chose for his inheritance. 


 

From heaven the LORD looks down and sees all mankind; from his dwelling place he watches all who live on earth-- he who forms the hearts of all, who considers everything they do. 


 

 No king is saved by the size of his army; no warrior escapes by his great strength. 

A horse is a vain hope for deliverance; despite all its great strength it cannot save. 

But the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love, 

We wait in hope for the LORD; he is our help and our shield.


 
In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. May your unfailing love rest upon us, O LORD, even as we put our hope in you.

This Sunday, July 5, 2015 
This weekend, on the 4th of July, we celebrate the signing of The Declaration of Independence. The signing of this document signified young America's rejection of Britain's authority and led to the beginning of the American Revolution. 

The document begins: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness." 

We praise God for this great Nation and the way that it has projected the values of liberty and freedom around the world.  Yet, we are in days of escalating cultural division and the outcome will have important ramifications for coming generations.  This Sunday, Pastor Wes will preach on "Discerning the Times" and how Christians can respond and live with authenticity and impact.  
Volunteers for Children's Ministry

Do you love kids!  Are you passionate about seeing kids know Jesus and grow in Him? 

 

We have openings for volunteers to lead and assist in Children's Ministry.  Even if you don't have experience, if you do know Jesus as Savior and care for kids, please speak with Pastor Wes.

Oh snap! It's Wednesday!!

Tonight is our last youth group for the school year! We've invited Northfield and Toms River COTN youth groups to celebrate with us and have some fun! We're going to have a great time in fellowship, playing games and eating some food to close out the school year!

Since it rained buckets and buckets on Saturday, we've postponed our Car Wash for another two weeks. The new date is July 11th, 10am-4pm.

We plan on having two events during the summer! A trip to NYC on July 31st and a Dorney Park trip in August.

Transition, Participation and Leadership
As we go through this days of pastoral transition, it is vital that every member of the GCCN congregation assist that all goes well.

What can you do? 
1.)  Pray fervently for the Church;

2.) See ways of participating in extra ways. How wonderful it is when someone comes to a Church leader and asks: "What can I do, how can I help?"  Wonderful words to hear! 

3.) Think about participating in leadership in a new way.  Do you have gifts and talents that are not being adequately utilized for the Lord and His Church?  Put those to use!  It will bless you and others!   
Vacation Bible School 2015 "Everest"
and Other KidMin News

Our VBS for this year is called Everest and the theme is Conquering Challenges with God's Mighty Power. The link for registration is also live and ready for kids to pre-register! Click here to see the new pre-registation site and keep us in prayer as we get ready to have the most kids we've ever had and to share with them the great love of our Lord! The VBS will be from July 20-24th. There was a good planning meeting for workers on Sunday evening, and we are so appreciative of the fine leadership provided by Marly! 

Work Progressing on the Property
There are important tasks to be done on the church building and property. In recent weeks, there has been repair and painting of the parsonage fence, painting of the church trim, repair work to the parsonage air conditioning system and this week we begin the replacement of smoke detectors in the church building.  Hopefully, next week, there will be something begun on the underground gas lines that supply the five furnace units. Also, in recent weeks the kitchen has been thoroughly cleaned and reorganized! 

Thanks to every person who gives of their time to participate in these tasks!  Also, thanks to those who give faithfully and generously so that all the these needs can be taken care of.

Truth From God's Word
"Be silent before me, you islands! Let the nations renew their strength! Let them come forward and speak; let us meet together at the place of judgment. "Who has stirred up one from the east, calling him in righteousness to his service? He hands nations over to him and subdues kings before him. He turns them to dust with his sword, to windblown chaff with his bow. He pursues them and moves on unscathed, by a path his feet have not traveled before. Who has done this and carried it through, calling forth the generations from the beginning? 

I, the LORD-- with the first of them and with the last-- I am he."  The islands have seen it and fear; the ends of the earth tremble. They approach and come forward; each helps the other and says to his brother, "Be strong!" The craftsman encourages the goldsmith, and he who smooths with the hammer spurs on him who strikes the anvil. He says of the welding, "It is good."  He nails down the idol so it will not topple. 

"But you, O Israel, my servant, Jacob, whom I have chosen, you descendants of Abraham my friend, I took you from the ends of the earth, from its farthest corners I called you. I said, 'You are my servant'; I have chosen you and have not rejected you. So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. "All who rage against you will surely be ashamed and disgraced; those who oppose you will be as nothing and perish"  --Isaiah 41:1-11
