Biblical Truth from
Pastor Wes

RWTOct12

"Which
Supreme Court?"

Any day now,

a ruling from the Supreme Court on marriage will skyrocket into the headlines.  How we wish and pray that the majority of the Court would recognize the Law above American law and realize that there is no such thing as same-sex marriage in the eyes of God.

An oft-repeated lie is still a lie.

If the Court rules wrongly on this issue, it certainly wouldn't be the first time that the American Justices have gotten it wrong--at great expense and suffering to the American people--see the Roe v. Wade ruling of 1973 for example.

If this ruling goes contrary to thousands of years of biblical and societal norms, it will not end the cause of those who reject God's prescriptions for right and godly living.

Soon there will be a growing accusation of

"religious-based bigotry" against any and all who will not affirm immoral lifestyle choices.  It is the nature of human defiance against God that people living in sin will fight vigorously to justify and gain acceptance for their perversions.

Regardless of this Supreme Court or any earthly council, the truth of God still remains the ultimate truth.

Despite satan's lies and human gullibility, there is coming the true

Day of Judgment--the Court of Courts.

Each person's eternal destiny will then be decided upon whether we knew Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and and honored His will or whether we settled for our wills and the deceptions of satan.

 Jesus said,

"There is a judge for the one who rejects me and does not accept my words; that very word which I spoke will condemn him at the last day."

John 12:48

Nations come and go.

The Word of the Lord stands forever!

This Sunday, June 28, 2015
One of the greatest questions and sources of confusion within the Christian life is regarding sin, ongoing sin.  It is absolutely essential that every believer have clear biblical knowledge and practice in relation to this--many have been tripped up over the years. The sad reality that that the North American Church is saturated with false teaching.

This Sunday, we will be returning to the Sermon Series "Transformed" based upon Paul's Epistle to the Romans.  We will be addressing this important topic--sin and the Christian life. You can prepare by reading in advance chapter 6, from which Pastor Wes will be preaching.  Please pray for Pastor as well as yourself and that every mind will open and responsive to the truth of God.

RockSolid Men Year-end Picnic
The Men's BBQ took place last night, despite the thunderstorms which rolled in just a half hour before we began.  We simply moved indoors and had a good time of fellowship and then a brief Bible study and reflections from Pastor Wes.

Thank you to each person who brought delicious food!  Thank you to those who set up/tore down, and to Harry who grilled in the rain!

How very much we appreciate the men of GCCN who live and apply the Gospel of Jesus Christ to their daily living and give good examples of what it means to be a RockSolid man of Jesus Christ!

We are grateful too for the time, talent and energy that men of GCCN give to support and sustain the ministries of GCCN in a wide variety of ways, from music and worship to mentoring, teaching, repairing and maintaining--thank, Men!

Transition, Participation and Leadership
As we go through this days of pastoral transition, it is vital that every member of the GCCN congregation assist that all goes well.

What can you do?
1.)  Pray fervently for the Church;

2.) See ways of participating in extra ways. How wonderful it is when someone comes to a Church leaders and asks: "What can I do to help?"

3.) Think about participating in leadership in a new way.  Do you have gifts and talents that are not being adequately utilized for the Lord and His Church?  Put those to use!  It will bless you and others!

Truth From God's Word
"Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. Earth and sky fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what he had done. Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." He who was seated on the throne said, "I am making everything new!"

Then he said, "Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true." He said to me: "It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life. He who overcomes will inherit all this, and I will be his God and he will be my son. But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars-- their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death."    --Revelation 20:11--21:8
