"License Plates"

I confess.
I'm addicted to reading license plates.
I think it started as young child when the children of our family would always be looking for out-of-state and curious license plates to add to our list.

What appeals to me today is how creative a person can be with only 7 spaces.

It's also a good way for a person to share their faith.
This past week I saw:

JC BFF

Expanded, that means

"Jesus Christ
Best Friend Forever"

In just a moment, I was blessed!
So much truth simply stated on a license plate!

As Christians, we have many wonderful opportunities to reflect Jesus Christ even to those we meet or know briefly.  Even in a moment we can give a word or a glimpse of Jesus Christ to those we meet briefly

"Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have."
--1 Peter 3:15
Sunday Worship, June 5, 2015
Abraham was one of the greatest followers of God there ever was.  But like many others who were honored by God, he lived before there was a Bible, before there were the commandments of God--even before Jesus had come into the world as the perfect teacher, model and Savior.

How did Abraham learn and live in a way that pleased God, when he lacked so much of what we have today from the Lord? This Sunday, Pastor Wes will be preaching from chapter 4 of Paul's Epistle to the Romans about this very question. It is vital to know the answer, because it's the same answer today for every person: How to have right relationship with God and please Him!

RockSolid Men Next Week
Two things next week, men:
Tuesday evening, June 9, will be the last in our series on "Dunamis: God's Power in Action" Same time (7pm), same place.

Then on Saturday, June 13th in the morning we need some men to set the Vacation Bible School Signs and to make repairs to the parsonage fence.  Please come out between 8:30 and 11:30 and we can get these matters all taken care of.
Building Repairs--Additional Matter:
In addition to the matters we are already doing preliminary work on (the smoke detectors and underground gas lines), with the recent heavy rains we have learned that we have roof leakage problems over the kitchen and men's lavatory areas.  We will need to add these to the list of items that need to be fixed as soon as possible.

To pass the upcoming fire inspection, we need to replace all of the hard-wired smoke detectors in the church building. The initial estimate on this project is $3000 but we are looking for a more economical way of accomplishing this.

The other major that we have at this time is the water leaking into the gas lines that supply the five furnaces. That likely requires that all of the underground gas lines be replaced.  Please pray that we will be able to accomplish all of these necessary repairs in an expeditious, effective and cost-efficient way.

Truth From God's Word
Jesus said, "On my account you will be brought before governors and kings as witnesses to them and to the Gentiles. But when they arrest you, do not worry about what to say or how to say it. At that time you will be given what to say, for it will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you."   ---Matthew 10:18-20
