"After the Resurrection"

Jesus appeared to many people over the course of 40 days after he rose from the dead.

All four Gospels record specific times Jesus proved that He was alive to a variety of people in many different settings.
Paul tells us that on one single occasion, Jesus appeared to 500 of his followers
(1 Cor 15:6)

Just like for us today, it was impossible to believe that a person cruelly killed through crucifixion could come back to life a few days later.

The disciple, Thomas, is representative of most of us who are not going to believe unless we directly see the evidence. But God will provide that for those who are earnestly seeking--as He did for Thomas.

Christians are not called to be gullible or naive, but to apply the best of reason and understanding.
God will meet those who earnestly seek Him!
Sunday, April 12:
This Sunday, Pastor Matt will be preaching on the "The Lord's Prayer."  Please keep Pastor Matt in your prayers this week as he prepares that God's insight and anointing will be upon him and that each person will hear the voice of the Lord.

The combined Adult Sunday School class will recommence this Sunday under the leadership of Aron Wall--continuing in the series on the life, lessons, and leadership seen the great King David.

Childrens' Bible Quizzing Trip to Lancaster County
For these recent months, the children have been studying the book of Exodus. An important part of their learning has been about the Tabernacle that God instructed them to build and transport while they were wandering in the desert for 40 years--a place of worship.  This Saturday, the children will be going to see the Tabernacle reproduction in Lancaster County--we will be leaving at 9:00 am.  Please keep these kids in prayer as they have this wonderful experience and learn about God's will and work. You can find further information about this by clicking here.
Easter Offering for World Missions
There has been a great and generous response to the Easter Offering for world missions--Praise God!  We are less than $400 from reaching the goal.  If you are able to contribute in the next week or two, your donation will be included for this vital need. Please give generously as you are able.
RockSolid Men Next Tuesday

We will be seeing great work that God has done in Hemet, CA on Tuesday, April 14 at 7:00 pm.  Pray that God will do it here!

Ladies of Grace

Join us for an informal evening of dinner, fellowship and inspiration Saturday, April 18th at 5PM at the church.

40 Days of Prayer
Thank you to each person who made extra time and effort to pray during the weeks leading up to Easter.  The spirit of the anti-Christ is affecting the hearts and minds of many--we are truly in days of apostasy and error in many ways and we read it in the news accounts daily.  God still changes things in response to the prayers of His people.  Please continue to take time daily to pray for people of our region. Pray for the salvation of souls and the sanctification of lives for Christ and eternity.
Upcoming Building Repairs
Unfortunately, there are two major building issues to address over the coming months.  The most recent fire inspection is calling for us to replace all of the hard-wired smoke detectors in the church building. The second issue is that we have water leaking into the gas lines that supply the five furnaces. That will likely require that all of the underground gas lines need to be replaced.  Please pray that we will be able to accomplish these necessary repairs in an effective and cost-efficient way.

Truth From God's Word
Now Thomas (called Didymus), one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came. So the other disciples told him, "We have seen the Lord!" But he said to them, "Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe it." A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you!" Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe." Thomas said to him, "My Lord and my God!"   ---John 20:24-28
