"Desperate Prayer "

When we think of a person of prayer in the biblical record, the name of Hannah often comes up--with good reason.

Hannah, childless, poured her heart out before the Lord with such an absence of self-regard that the priest on duty assumed she was drunk.

The Bible says of her that "she wept much and prayed to the Lord."
It is also clear that God did not immediately answer her prayer, but that she prayed for a child for a number of years, all the time being ridiculed by her rival.

Eventually, it is said: "The Lord
remembered her."
The Lord answered
her prayer!
And her first-born was the great prophet Samuel, who heard the voice of the Lord, anointed kings and helped usher in a much needed revival for the nation.

You can read her story in the first chapter of the first book named after her son--the passage that memorializes a mother's prayers for all time.

Perhaps there is something you have prayed for and it has not yet happened.
Have you accepted the way things are, or are you desperate for things to be different?
God will not ignore prayers of desperation from His people.
He will answer!

What's the worst trade you ever made, the worst deal you've ever heard of?  Sadly, the worst trade for all of us is exchanging the true God for a host of imposters and worthless substitutes.  Paul says in Romans 1:23 that we "exchanged the glory of the immortal God" for a host of powerless idols and trinkets.  This Sunday, Lord willing, Pastor Wes will preach on this important passage of how the wise became foolish, how the human race chose to serve created things rather than the Creator.
40 Days of Prayer
These are very important days in our country and world.  The spirit of the antichrist is affecting the hearts and minds of many--we are truly in days of apostasy and error in many ways.  God still changes things in response to the prayers of His people.  Please take time daily to pray for people of our region and for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit.  God is calling His people to prayer! Please pray for the salvation of souls and the sanctification and transformation of lives for Jesus Christ and eternity.
