"God's Eternal Word"

Count me among those who are saddened each time the ACLU and other God-excluding organizations win a court victory to remove Christian words and symbols from the public sphere.

It reminds  me of the years I lived in Montreal and the "language police" searched for any public English words: if you had an apartment "For Rent" and placed those offensive words on the front of your building you could expect a visit and a fine.

Yesterday, the Prime Minister of Israel referenced a marble depiction of Moses in the House of Representatives.
I couldn't helping thinking, "O no, now the ACLU is going to sue to have the great biblical lawgiver ejected from the walls of  Congress."
Don't laugh, sooner or later they will likely try!

Prime Minister Netanyahu quoted words that Moses had said--actually words that God had given to Moses: "Be strong and resolute. Neither fear nor dread them."

The word of God spoken over 4000 years ago bursting forth in 2015 through the voice of a man and broadcast around the world at the speed of light.
We may be saddened by the occasional battle won by those who would seek to be God-excluders, but they are actually a total failure at excluding God and His word from the world we live in.

Leader, nations, even worlds come and go.  But the word of God stands forever!

"Your word, O LORD, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens."
Psalm 119:89

"Houston, we've had a problem here." Those famous words of Jack Swigert on Apollo 13 reflected a huge failure of a space mission.  Since then, those words (often modified) have been used with humor in many other settings.

The reality is: "Humanity, we have a problem!" As the Apostle Paul presents the Good News of Jesus Christ, he first addresses the "bad news" of the human condition.  Each one of us knows it personally. But for each of us there is a clear and definitive solution!   Lord willing, this Sunday Pastor Wes will be preaching from Romans, chapter one, and will focus on this major malfunction, this catastrophic failure that plagues the human race. In preparation, please read Romans 1, especially verses 16-20.

Truth From God's Word
:Jesus said,  "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished."
