 Thoughts from Pastor Wes

"Fall From Grace

Brian Williams reached the top of his field, the face of news for NBC and among the most trusted and revered men in America.

But this week, we have seen a rapid plummet that has resulted in a six month suspension "without pay" from his evening broadcast.  Some have described this turn of events as a tragic "fall from grace."

One cannot help but wonder what would lead an already successful correspondent and TV anchor to continue to lie, distort and embellish personal experiences.
While we may not know what precisely went on in William's mind, we all know the temptation to miss the mark of integrity and morality that God requires of us, for "all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God"

Sometimes, the worst events of our lives can become the best events of transforming, changing and renewing us into what God has called us to be.

A "fall from grace" never takes us beyond the grace of God--He is often found at the very bottom of the valleys that we fall into.  May these days be a "fall to grace" for Williams and for each person who knows that they have truly missed the mark of what could have been!

Jesus said: "All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out."
--John 6:37

"For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: "The righteous will live by faith."  --Romans 1:17

This brief verse gives such powerful truth that the course of Western Civilization has been changed by it--and even the world!  It is not our works that save us, nor our effort, or any other action we take.  The faith that God inspires within us through Jesus Christ is among the most potent and wonderful gifts that God gives us. This Sunday, Pastor Wes will preach on this verse and how it impacts your daily life.
