 Thoughts from Pastor Wes

"God's Power to Change Lives and Communities"

Imagine all the power that was unleashed when God said, "Let there be light" and there was light!

Throughout the universes, all the vast energy and power is a direct result of God's own word and power.

As disciples of Jesus Christ, we know that "all things are possible with God" and that "greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world."

But are we experiencing the maximum levels of power that God can exert in our lives and in our communities?

Praise God for the many evidences of His presence and power, but history shows that if we
dig deeper,
pray more effectively,
follow Him more courageously,
God will indeed greater things!

And those greater things can and does result in profound personal and community transformations.

The story of Jonah tells us that God can change an entire city even through a foot-dragging, uncooperative prophet!  How much would He do with a band of fervent believers?

"For the eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to show Himself strong to those whose hearts are fully committed to him."
--2 Chronicles 16:9
Sunday, January 25, 2015
We continue in the sermon series on Romans this Sunday.  For those who made it this past Sunday despite treacherous road conditions, don't forget to take some time to summarize your relationship with Jesus Christ, your call by God and your mission in life--all in one sentence!  For a great example, see how the Apostle Paul introduced himself in the first verse of his letter to the Roman Christians.

During the course of the Sunday Morning Service, we will be including the Annual Church Meeting, including the election of Board Members for 2015.  Full Members of GCCN are eligible to vote for these officers.
Youth Mission 2015 Offering
Ministry to youth is accomplished financially through YMission15 GCCN.  The challenge to members and friends of GCCN is to commit $2.00 per day of support throughout the year. That works out to $60 per month or $730 for the year.  This money enables the Church to reach young people with the message of Jesus Christ.

Pray, fill out your pledge form and bring along this Sunday.  Together we can reach the goal of $16,000 for Youth Ministry this year and lives will be changed!

2014, A Year of Increased Christian Persecution

"While in 2014 the days of throwing Christians to wild beasts in the arena may be behind us, the persecution of Christians around the world isn't. In fact, the number of our brothers and sisters subjected to imprisonment, torture, and death for their faith in just the last twelve months dwarfs the number who suffered during the entire tenure of Nero."   You can read more about the War on Christians here. In North Korea alone, 70,000 people are prisoners because of their faith in Jesus Christ.  Pray for these who suffer.
