"Christmas:
With or Without?"
Often when we order a glass of water at a restaurant, the waiter will ask: "Lemon, with or without?"
We have a similar two-track choice regarding Christmas. Many "celebrate Christmas, just not the religious part."
Recently I read that in China Christmas Eve has become the "biggest shopping day of the year" and that
"most see Christmas as another reason to go out and have fun." The article pointed out that many people "have no religious beliefs and do not know how to associate Christmas with Christianity."
"With or without Jesus Christ?"--that is the question. And not just for Christmas, it is the most fundamental question for all of life.
Life itself depends on this foundational choice and the eternity of each person hinges upon it.
"Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved-- you and your household."
--Acts 16:31

Second Sunday of Advent
God is a communicating God because God is a loving God! In a vast array of ways, God communicates to and with His creation--you and me. Jesus Christ is the heart of God's Word to the world. We celebrate His coming into the world this season-- "Jesus Christ is the only reason for the season"--God's perfect Word to the world.
During December, Pastor Wes is sharing a four-part Christmas sermon series on "God Word to the World." This Sunday we will look at God's Word to the World Through Joseph of Nazareth. May this time together be an honor to God and a blessing to you!

Growing Children's Ministry
Thank you to those who have committed and are involved in ministry to GCCN children! We could still use a children's Sunday School class teacher, one nursery worker, and one Children's Church leader.
