"Week of Contrasts"

The two big news items this week are "Ferguson" and Thanksgiving.

Ferguson is a story of loss, grief and deep divisions regarding race and justice.

There are no "winners" in this sad tragedy in Missouri.  The response to Michael Brown's death underscores America's deeper systemic issues. It reminds us how desperately we need to listen to one another and to accept Christ's spirit of knowing who our neighbor is and loving as Christ would have us love.

As Evangelical Christians, we know and believe in Good News!  We know that the only ultimate hope for all that would separate us is found in the Truth that God offers us.

Simplistic remedies will not help through issues of division, but simple truths will.

We cannot solve the world problems, but we can let Jesus Christ change our hearts in ways that bring peace.

For that we can be thankful!

God will bring peace where His will is honored.

First Sunday of Advent
This coming Sunday is the first Sunday of the Advent Season.  The greatest gift ever given was God giving of Himself to be with us and for us in this fallen world.  This Sunday, Pastor Wes will begin the first of a four-part Christmas sermon series on "God Word to the World."  The first portion will be based upon God's word to Mary and how God's words to her affect us all.  May this time together be an honor to God and a blessing to you!  Please pray for Sunday worship times.
Thank You!

Thank you for making the Sunday Thanksgiving Church Dinner a wonderful time of fellowship and enjoyment!  God has indeed blessed us in many ways and we celebrate His goodness!

Thank you also for the generous offering for World Missions. If you would still like to contribute, please mark your gift for "Missions" and it will go to support mission work around the world.

Growing Children's Ministry
Thank you to those who have committed and are involved in ministry to GCCN children!  We could still use a children's Sunday School class teacher, one nursery worker, and one Children's Church leader.  There is no ministry more important than ministry to children! If the Lord is leading you to participate in one of these roles, please contact Pastor Wes at your earliest opportunity.  Thank you!
