Thoughts from
Pastor Matt
"Instagram-ing for The Lord"
If you've haven't heard, Instagram is another one of those social media outlets where people take pictures and shares them with their friends and family or fans. This site as of September 2013 has more than 150 million monthly users! Just like Twitter, fans can choose to follow a celebrity or friend and get notifications whenever they post a picture. You can also comment on someone's picture. As of August 2014, the top most followed person has more than 20 Million followers!
On Sunday, I decided to give in and made my own Instagram account. (I already do Facebook and Twitter) Within 20 seconds of joining and my first picture, (which was me enjoying some Jamba Juice from New York City) I had 25 followers. As of typing this devotional, I have 277.
I could go comical with my Instagram, (which I will), but I have a certain responsibility now. I'm reminded by the words of Jesus in Matthew 28 to "...go and make disciples of all nations," and to teach " them to obey everything I have commanded you." So with my new outlet of ministry, I'm going to use Instagram to give God the glory and maybe someone will open their heart and let Jesus in.
Imagine: what would our world look like if we all took a minute to see how we can use the things around us for the Kingdom?

Growing Children's Ministry--Volunteers Needed Grace Community Church's ministry to children continues to advance--praise God! We are in need of additional volunteers as this time so we can provide the best ministry possible. Can you help? 1.) Children's Sunday School Class teachers. One of the most important ministries of the church is teaching kids in Sunday School--making life-long impact and memories. We are in great need for teachers--would you consider making this investment? 2.) Nursery worker. We are in need of 2 more adults who would help in the nursery on a rotational basis, about once per month. 3.) Children's Church leader: This would be about 2 Sundays every two months. Using the prepared curriculum, this would be ministering to about 6-9 children during the Main Service. 4.) Children's Ministry Leader: someone with a passion for children who would work with the Pastors in guiding and overseeing the various children's ministries that are developing. There is no ministry more important than ministry to children! If the Lord is leading you to participate in one of these roles, please contact Pastor Wes at your earliest opportunity. Thank you! |

New Trees Planted on Church Property Over the past month, 3 unhealthy trees have been removed and 3 new, young trees have been planted. This has been done in memory of Michael and Evelyn Mazur and donated to GCCN through their estate. We will have a special dedication occasion on Sunday, November 16th. This is a fitting tribute to a dear couple! |

Upcoming Women's and Men's Events
The next ladies lunch and "Sewing Bee" will be on November 15 at 11:30 a.m. No prior sewing knowledge is necessary, but you will want to bring some sewing materials if possible. Please contact Yvonne Hurd for details about the event. Come out for lunch, fellowship, a devotional time a chance to put your talent to work!
On the same day, there will be a wood-cutting day to help supply firewood for some of our seniors who use wood to heat their homes during the winter. We will start about 8:30 in the morning and you can drop in for a couple hours anytime until the early afternoon. Great opportunity to make a big difference for others!
Then on December 6th, ladies of GCCN will be taking a trip to the Peddler's Village in Lahaska, PA. Invite your friends, have dinner, enjoy shopping and see Christmas lights! For more information, please contact Sarah Tink or Amy Weyna.

Good News From God's Word
For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope-the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good. -Titus 2: 11-14
