"Leaves of Color"

Do you love the seasons, enjoy the constant change in the artistry of nature?  Not only is it beautiful to look at, but it also is another reminder of the linear aspect of life. We began somewhere, we are headed somewhere.

Moses asks the Lord to "teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom."
--Psalm 90:12

To "number our days" suggests mathematics, counting.  However, Moses may have been less interested in simply counting our days than in making our days count--for God and for others!

Remembering the brevity of life can move us toward wisdom. Realizing that we are here for but a short time can encourage us to attend to the essence and substance of life.

Those leaves that were budding just a short few months ago have fulfilled their calling.
And they end--triumphant in a blaze of color--to be appreciated and admired by all who pass by. And we are left with the memory of their beauty for another year.

Moses concludes his psalm: "May the favor of the Lord our God rest upon us; establish the work of our hands for us-- yes, establish the work of our hands."
This Sunday at Grace Community
Anger, forgiveness and relational healing--we all have experienced these and we all need God's wisdom and Spirit in addressing the difficult areas of relationship. This Sunday, Pastor Wes share the teaching from Christ that was to be shared this past Sunday--before Pastor got a stomach virus and needed to take the weekend off. Please pray that the Gospel will be shared effectively and with the anointing of the Holy Spirit. God desires that we all move toward healed relationships.

At the conclusion of the Sunday Morning Service, there will be a baptismal service.  If you would like to be baptized, please contact Pastor Wes

Don't forget, time change this weekend--clocks back Saturday night.  This is the time change we like!
Growing Children's Ministry--Volunteers Needed
Grace Community Church's ministry to children continues to advance--praise God! We are in need of additional volunteers as this time so we can provide the best ministry possible. Can you help?

1.) Children's Sunday School Class teachers.  One of the most important ministries of the church is teaching kids in Sunday School--making life-long impact and memories. We are in great need for teachers--would you consider making this investment?

2.)  Nursery worker.  We are in need of 2 more adults who would help in the nursery on a rotational basis, about once per month.

3.) Children's Church leader: This would be about 2 Sundays every two months.  Using the prepared curriculum, this would be ministering to about 6-9 children during the Main Service.

4.) Children's Ministry Leader: someone with a passion for children who would work with the Pastors in guiding and overseeing the various  children's ministries that are developing.

There is no ministry more important than ministry to children! If the Lord is leading you to participate in one of these roles, please speak with Pastor Wes at your earliest opportunity.  Thank you!

New Trees Planted on Church Property
Over the past month, 3 unhealthy trees have been removed and 3 new, young trees have been planted.  This has been done in honor of Evelyn Mazur and donated to GCCN through her estate.  We will have a special dedication occasion on Sunday, November 16th.  This is a fitting tribute to a dear lady who brought Christ's beauty to the lives of all who knew her.  We rejoice for a life well lived!

Good News From God's Word
"A prayer of Moses the man of God. Lord, you have been our dwelling place throughout all generations. Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God. You turn men back to dust, saying, "Return to dust, O sons of men." For a thousand years in your sight are like a day that has just gone by, or like a watch in the night." --Psalm 90:1-3.
