Thoughts from
Pastor Wes

"The
Mind of Christ"

In Paul's first Letter to the Corinthians, he tells us that Christians have
"the mind of Christ."
How wonderful that he speaks of it as a present reality!

Earlier in Chapter 2, Paul gives some distinguishing marks of Christ's mind:

Christ's mind contrasts to the wisdom of man (vss 5-6);

It is God's wisdom
(vs 7);

We receive it through the Holy Spirit
(vss 10-12)

The mind of Christ gives us discernment in spiritual matters
(vs 15).

While we have the mind of Christ, we are continuously aspiring to more of Christ's mind in our lives.

In that sense, it is one of those
"already/but not yet" matters.

We have maturity in Christ but there is always yet room for growth as long as we live for greater Christlikeness and godly maturity.

Let us rejoice in what God has already accomplished within us!
Let us also be open, available and teachable for what He yet has for us!
This Sunday at Grace Community
"What does "Love your neighbor as yourself" look like on a daily basis? How does that translate into daily living?

This Sunday, Pastor Wes will address those questions from the teachings of Jesus Christ.  Please pray that the Gospel will be shared effectively and with the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Your prayers make the difference!

This Sunday as part of "Ministry Appreciation Month" we will be honoring Pastor Matt as he reaches 3 years of ministry at GCCN.
Annual Men's Conference this Saturday
Men's Conference 2014
Men, this Saturday is our 3rd annual District Men's Conference. The theme this year is: "Is He Calling You?"--How to hear God's voice in a muddy and busy world. We'll be meeting at Fairview Village Church in Eagleville, PA.  The cost for this is only $15 which includes lunch. This is a great investment of your time and will give you fellowship with about 40 other men.
#yoGo Teen News Now!
Good Wednesday Morning/Afternoon/Evening or whenever you read this! Here's what's going on in the lives of our teens!

Thank you to all who helped with the Bible Quiz on Saturday. All of the teens that attended had a great time (and full stomachs)! Our next quiz meet is an overnight weekend of fellowship and fun at Toms River COTN in November.

Speaking about November, we've got Festival of Life coming up soon! Keep us in prayer!

Tonight is another great time of going into God's word at #yoGo Youth Ministries. Keep us in prayer as we lean on the Father.

Teen Quzzing and "Spruce it Up!" and Church Dinner
THANK YOU to all those who help, serve and give of their time! The Bible Quizzing Meet this past Saturday went really well and was deeply appreciated by all the teens who were able to participate.

Also, thank you to those who did great work around the church building and then went and move firewood for Earl and Miriam--they greatly appreciate it!  This will be an ongoing need over the next few months, so if you have time and enjoy exercise, just connect with Earl and he can assist you. We are planning a men's event on November 15th to cut, split and stack as much wood as possible for Earl and Miriam to help them through the winter.  Grace in action makes a difference in people's lives!

Good News From God's Word
"But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. He will bring glory to me by taking from what is mine and making it known to you. 15 All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will take from what is mine and make it known to you.   ---Gospel of John 16:13-16
