"Little Things"

Two store I'm frequently visit are Sam's Club and Aldi.

At Sam's Club, there are often 2 or 3 tired looking guys in the parking lot rounding up shopping carts.  At Aldi, there are never orphaned carts in the parking lot, but they are all neatly right where they need to be--near the front door.  I've never even seen an employee collecting carts in the Aldi lot.

What's the difference? One quarter.
One little quarter has trained all of the Aldi shoppers to put their cart back by the door. If they don't, another shopper will eagerly do it for them--all for a quarter profit!

It doesn't take much of a reward for businesses to condition our behavior and for us to do the "right thing".

As a result, the business is able to keep down their costs and pass the savings along to the customer.  Seems like a "win-win" remedy!

That little quarter likely means millions of dollars difference in the running of 9000 Aldi stores around the world.

What are the "little things" in our lives that amount to a great difference?  Are there little routines, habits, practices that we have on a daily basis that are making a huge difference in the big picture of our lives?

The Old Testament tells us that the "little foxes spoil the vine."
(Sg of Solomon 2:15)

On the positive side, Jesus said, "One who is faithful in very little things, will also be faithful in much..."
(Luke 16:10)

Everything matters to God.  Don't underestimate how much the little things in your life are making a big difference!
This Sunday at Grace Community
One of the great leaders and preachers in Christian history was John Wesley who lived from 1703-1791.  Under his influence, England experienced a revival that spread to many parts of the world and led millions of people to know and serve Christ with passion and conviction. Over the next three Sundays, Pastor Wes will share three of John Wesley's powerful sermons that testify to the great work God does in the hearts and lives of men and women.  Our prayer is that what God for 18th century England will soon take place in 21st century America--a true turning to God across our nation!
Women of Faith Conference this Weekend
"From Survival to Revival" is the theme of the Women of Faith conference taking place this Friday evening and Saturday at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.  GCCN may have more tickets available at a reduced rate--please contact JoAnne Oliver here if you are interested in attending and do not have a ticket.
Membership at Grace Community Church?
Like what you see and want to be more involved?  Have questions about the Church and Christian beliefs?  Want to help set the direction and future for the Church?  There will be a membership class in the near future.  If you are interested in being part of this, please let Pastor Wes know by clicking here and we will arrange the date and times based upon the participants schedule.
Prayers that Birth Revival
More than any other single thing, our nation needs a turning to God and a fresh outpouring of God's Holy Spirit.   We need a new turning to God in our individual lives as well.  Do you need a fresh touch, a new manifestation of God's power in your life?  Pastor Wes is asking the congregation of GCCN to a 21-day period of prayer that invites Jesus Christ t to do His will in and through us.  Will you be part of this 21-day prayer challenge?  God will bless you through it!  Be one who receives His blessing!
#yoGo Teen News Now!
Welcome back to the Teen/Kids corner! We pray that your summer was fantastic!

Thank you to all who sent us mail at both kids and teen camp! We were truly blessed by it.

Thank you also to those who volunteered and prayed for our Vacation Bible School in July. It was the best one yet!

Here's what's new in the lives of our teens: Teen Quizzing has already started! This year, we look at the book of Acts, an amazing story on how the Church got started and lives were changed because of Jesus Christ. Join us on Tuesday nights starting at 6:30.

This Friday is the annual Philly District Back to School Rally at Ozzy's in Leesport, PA! We're going to rock the house and party all night in fellowship!

Youth Group doesn't start until next week, but our Youth Leadership Team will meet tonight. Our goal is to make this year the best year for teen ministry. We want to see lives changed and relationships in Jesus Christ begin!

Keep us in prayer as we continue to make big strides in our community and spread the love of Jesus Christ!
Men's District Conference
Men, please reserve October 11th for our 3rd annual Men's Conference.  The past two years this was held at GCCN, but this year we are moving the location to Fairview Village Church in Eagleville, PA so that more men can participate from across our District.  The theme this year is: "Is He Calling You?"--How to hear God's voice in a muddy and busy world.  The cost for this in only $15 which includes lunch.  Make this a priority and God will surprise you!
Outreach and Church Growth
God is doing many good things within GCCN--and we praise Him for it!  Next month, we will be forming a team of people who will seek how we can reach out to others and expand our ministry effectiveness for Jesus Christ. Please prayerfully consider if you might be part of that team and help in shaping the outreach and growth that God has for this Church.  If you are interested in being part of this "Outreach & Church Growth Team," please contact Pastor Wes and let him know. Thanks to those who have already signed up, you'll be getting more info this week.

Good News From God's Word
"Jesus, full of joy through the Holy Spirit, said, "I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this was your good pleasure." --Luke 10:21
