Thoughts From Pastor Wes

"Noah"

By now, you've likely heard about the recent release of of another Hollywood film connected to the Bible, "Noah."  
So far, it has brought in over 95 million dollars around the world.

Here is why I will not be going to see it:

#1: Truth Matters
The director-producer, Darren Aronofsky,  said "Noah" is "the least Biblical Biblical film ever made."   So in making this film, God's truth does not matter.
It matters to me!

#2 Money Matters
Every dollar I spend goes to someone else.  I care about who gets my money. I'd rather a Christian film maker gets my money than an atheist one--even if that Christian doesn't have all the resources to make a blockbuster.
My money matters!

#3: Mind Matters
 We live in an age when powerful influencers are effective in manipulating our minds and worldview.  Christ calls us to be  counter-cultural and to resist those who are contrary to His  will and word.
My mind matters!

#4: Souls Matter
The saying goes, "You are what you eat."  Also, your mind, soul and destiny are shaped by what you put into it.  Satan has no shortage of methods to distract and deter us from God's best.
Our souls matter!

Honor God and He will honor you!  
Sunday, April 6: The Anointing of Christ
As Christ was proceeding to Calvary, he stopped with his friends, Lazarus, Martha, Mary and others.  In John 12 we read about Mary anointing Him with expensive perfume and wiping His feet with her hair.  To some, it sounds like an odd story and unlike Jesus.  This Sunday, Pastor Wes will lead us in a study of this important passage.  If possible, please read John 12 before Sunday.  Pray for God's insight.
Good Friday and Easter Sunday
Grace Community Church will be holding a special Good Friday service on April 18th at 7:30 pm.  We will take this evening to focus on the suffering, death and love of Jesus Christ on our behalf.

Then on Sunday Morning, April 20th, we will celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ and His victory over sin and death.  This will be a great service of praise and honor to God.  We encourage you to bring family and friends to both of these worship opportunities.  Following the Easter Service, there will be a Grace Community Church dinner for all.

During the month of April, we will also be receiving our annual Easter Offering for world missions.  Our goal is $2000.00 with all of the funds going to support missionaries around the world.

Hey all! It's a Wednesday (or when ever you read this!) Whatever day it is, it's a great day to praise the Lord! Here's what's going on in the teen's lives.

Tonight, we continue our "Living Out 4:12" Series and it's Love: Part 2! How can we honor God with our relationships with a certain person? Let's talk about that at 7pm!

This Saturday is the District Finals for Teen Bible Quizzing at Lansdale COTN. Keep our quizzers in prayer as we finish the season strong!!

Teen Summer Camp is coming soon! July 28-August 1st, worship, fun, smiles, joy and more at summer camp. Talk to Pastor Matt for more information or print out your forms now!!

April 27th is our next Youth Service! Keep us in prayer as we prepare!

Work Day on the Church Property This Saturday
It is truly amazing what was accomplished last Saturday!  Thank you to the 10 people who gave generously of their time last week to get the property and grounds cleaned up--some of it even in the rain!  Thank You for all you did--it made a BIG difference!

This Saturday we have a wide array of additional tasks that need to be attended to.  
A few hours of your time will make a big difference!   Food will be available.  Call Pastor Wes' cell phone if you have questions.   Work planned from 8:30 am -- 2:00 pm.

What energizes you about the work that you do?  Where do you find your purpose and encouragement on the job?  These are questions that we will be addressing in our next meeting. This coming Tuesday, April 8, at 7:00 pm.
Child Evangelism Fellowship Conference Headline
For everyone who is involved in ministry to children or just loves kids, you know that there is nothing more important in young lives than spiritual development!  There is an upcoming children's ministry conference sponsored Child Evangelism Fellowship on April 12 that you don't want to miss!  

Please sign up in the foyer if you would like to attend, brochures are available.  The cost of this conference is $59, but scholarships to assist with the cost may be available if needed. Easter Presentation at Fountain of Life
Tickets are available for the annual Fountain of Life presentation in Burlington County.  See Sandi Weyna or contact her here to reserve your tickets. This is a great ministry event to take friends to and it is no cost to you!
