Thoughts From Pastor Wes

"Flight 370"

It is now almost two weeks since the Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 enroute from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing vanished.

Many theories abound, but none have the necessary evidence to bring answers and resolution.

Our hearts go out to the families of the 239 people who were aboard as they live in days of great confusion and grief.

It comes as a surprise to us that in these days of great technology & communication that a large plane could disappear for this long without any sure answers from the "best and brightest" among us.  These are days of  human humility that with all our resources  we do not know as much as we think we do.

But the evidence is out there somewhere and I believe the answers will be found as the search continues.

We live in an age of great confusion:
moral confusion
sexual confusion, identity confusion, spiritual confusion.

But the evidence is out there.  Those who are truly searching will find it and when they do they will come to Truth.

Jesus said, "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you."
Matthew 7:7

Dependable words for what we most need to find!
Sunday, March 23:  Your Actions Matter!
The biblical author, James, shows the importance of faith--but he firmly believes that faith without action is of little or no value: "faith without works is dead!" This Sunday, Pastor Wes will continue leading us in our study of the Epistle of James, "Faith in Action" by focusing on this important passage.  Prepare your mind and heart by reading James 2:14-26 and praying for God's anointing on our Pastor and service.

This Sunday Josh H. will be leading the praise songs at the start of the worship time together.  Come early to enjoy great worship!
LADIES LUNCH AND "SEWING BEE"

A Ladies Lunch and "Sewing Bee"   will be held this Saturday, March 22nd at 11:30 at the church.   No prior sewing knowledge is necessary, but you will want to bring some sewing materials to make a blanket.  Please contact Yvonne Hurd for details about the event.  Hope you can come out for a time of food, fellowship, a devotional time  and a chance to put your creative side to work!

This was a tough winter on all of us, including the Church building and property.  Spring is finally coming, but there is much work and cleanup to be done on the building and grounds. We will have two upcoming Saturday workdays.  The first one, on March 29 will focus primarily on downed branches and yard repair, so please bring chain saws and yard tools. A few hours of your time will make a big difference.  The second workday will be on April 5 and will attend to some important matters on the church building as well as installing our new church sign. Reserve a few hours for fun and fellowship getting vital things done! Lunch will be available.
