God's Call to Christlikeness

Is God's call to live a holy life something new and recent?

Not at all!

Before the Israelite nation came into being, God called Abram to leave his heathen country and to "walk before me and be holy." (Genesis 17:1) 

Hundreds of years later, when the Israelites were being delivered from Egyptian slavery, God said to them: "Sanctify yourselves and be holy and I am holy."
(Leviticus 20:7f)

Again and again done through the history of Israel, God continued His call to holiness:
"Let your heart be perfect with the Lord our God and walk in His ways."
(1 Kings 8:60-61).

To all people of every age, God still calls us to live as He would have us live, to live as Christ lived.

Are you seeking and living in the power of the Holy Spirit as God calls?
 
Sunday, March 2: Christlike Responses
This Sunday, Pastor Wes will continue leading us in our study of the Epistle of James, "Faith in Action." What a great letter this is giving us many useful and practical insights for living!  We are bombarded on all sides by many words and events, but the Christian is given clear direction about having Christlike responses. Prepare your mind and heart by reading James 1:19-25 and praying for God's anointing on our service.

Awww Yeah! It's Wednesday! Another Teen News Now, coming at ya!

How do you live out 4:12? Wait, what is 4:12? #yoGo's theme verse is 1 Timothy 4:12, "Do not let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, conduct, faith, love and purity." How can we live this out? Join us tonight at 7p as we Live Out 4:12.

On Saturday, our quiz team travels to New Holland Church for penultimate (second to last) meet of the 2013 season. It's all on James!
 
Festival of Life is coming up on March 20-23. Our teens are having a really great time preparing for it! Keep us in prayer! Thank you to all who have prayed and helped us financially!

Church Board 2014 Conference

The annual planning conference of GCCN Church Board will take place on Saturday, March 8 at 9:00 am.  This is a time for the elected Church leaders to pray, discern and seek the next steps forward that God has for His Church.  Please pray that this will be a anointed time of prayer, vision and planning which will result much fruit for Christ.  

Specific Prayer Needs 
There are several specific prayer needs at this time:
Dean, the son of Ken and Sandi, had a cardiac event yesterday;
Harry and Kathie, had a serious house fire last week;
Greg, the brother-in-law of Michael, who had a heart attack;
Grace & Angela, a fire in their building resulted in a death;
Pastor Wes' brother, Fletcher, currently ministering in Pakistan;
Mission 2014 Offering 
We are in still in great need for additional people to step out in faith and pledge $2.00 per day to support the GCCN Youth Ministry. This Offering is the backbone of support for our Children and Youth Ministries. Please consider what you could do this year and drop your pledge form into the offering plate when you are able to.  Please mark your donations to ministry "Mission 2014 Offering."
