Valentine's Day

This column is primarily a reminder to all the guys that this Friday is Valentines Day.
Men, you have a an important task to do!

What a great blessing the women of our lives are!
I have three that I talk with almost every day: my wife, my mother and my sister.

I thank God for each of these daily--they are wonderful, caring people who devote much time and energy to "making the world a better place."

The Bible gives so many life stories of women who changed their world and the lives of those around them.  Jesus and Paul both counted women among their closest and greatest friends.

While Valentines is about romance, flowers, cards and chocolates, at the core it is about appreciating those wonderful women who have made eternal contributions and invested so much.

Ladies, what a great blessing you are!
The cards, flowers, chocolates are just a very small token of  how very much you are appreciated--every day of the year!

Faith is an Action Word! A Letter from James

One of the fascinating points about the Letter of James in the New Testament is that James is most likely the half brother of Jesus--same mother, different fathers.  As such, James would have grown up with a unique insight of Jesus that few, if any, of the other New Testament writers would have had.  James was skeptical of Jesus during Christ's earthly ministry.  but somewhere along the line, perhaps after the resurrection, James became a full and devout believer in his brother, Messiah.  This coming Sunday, Pastor Wes will lead us in a study of James 1:19-25 which gives great, practical insights into the place and priority of the Scripture in our lives.  Don't forget your pen & paper.
Bible Memorization Goal: "Sermon on the Mount"
What method of memorization are you using? Find that few minutes each day to commit a verse to memory and you and others will greatly blessed by it!  The Gospel of Matthew, chapters 5-7.  Never to late to start!

Alabaster Offering During February
Penny
The Alabaster Offering provides funds for property and buildings around the world. While we understand the church consists of people and not a building, buildings erected for the purpose of ministry to people.

Alabaster funds help provide land for many Work & Witness projects, and the entire Alabaster Offering goes toward the purchase of land and construction of churches, schools, medical facilities, and homes for missionaries and national workers.
