"Leaders"

I am so thankful for the seven people who have stepped forward and said that they would be willing to serve on the Church Board this year!

To be a member of the Board not only means to be in support and agreement with the values and mission of the Church, but also to give sacrificially of time and energy to help in shaping the direction, health and holiness of the Church.  Our Board is  a prayer group. Throughout the week we pray for the people and ministries of GCCN.

We are also a "visioneering team" --discerning what God would have the Church do and how best to do it.  It has been said that almost everything rises and falls on leadership. God has some large steps of faith to take this next year, but without committed leaders, that would not be possible.

Praise God for a great team!  Pray for great faith and courage as we lead together!
Faith in Action! A Letter from James
Facing doubts and gaining wisdom will be our sermon focus this Sunday as Pastor Wes leads us in an practical sermon series on the Letter of James, likely written by a half-brother of Jesus.  Similar to Proverbs, James gives short & clear insights for living. Bring paper/pen to take notes.
Grace Community Church Board for 2014
This past Sunday we were able to celebrate much that God has done in our midst during 2013 and to elect Church Board members for 2014. Serving this year will be Nadine Dastinot, Rena Hopkins, Cheryl Jones, Jon Lambert, Marly Paul, JoAnne Oliver and Sandi Weyna. Thanks to each of these and please do keep them in your prayer and we address some exciting and challenging new steps forward for GCCN this year!
#yoGo Teen News Now!
Woah! It's Wednesday! We pray that everyone is having a blessed one. Here's what's happening in the lives of our teens this week.

The Arctic Blast wont hold us back this time! We are back in action this week with the series Beneath the Song. Last time, we looked at the song Hello, My Name Is, by Matthew West. This week, we are going to check out By Your Side by Tenth Avenue North.

We're going to be very busy soon! In March, our teens will be participating in the Festival of Life competition at Eastern Nazarene College! More details to come in the upcoming weeks.

Have a blessed Wednesday!
Mission 2014 Offering
Would you be one of those who step out in faith and pledge $2.00 per day or $730 for the year to support our Youth Ministry?  This Offering is the backbone of support for our Children and Youth Ministries. In 2013 this Offering raised over $10,000.  The Church Board has set a challenging yet doable goal of $18,000 for 2014.

We will reach that goal if there are 25 people willing to give $2.00 per day for 2014 in addition to tithes.  Please consider what you could do this year and drop your pledge form into the offering plate when you are able to.  Please also always mark your offering for this ministry "Mission 2014 Offering."

Bible Memorization Goal: "Sermon on the Mount"
We're almost at the end of January.  Have you been able to make headway on the first 11 verses of the Sermon on the Mount?  One technique is to go for a walk each day and take your verses with you.

Good News From God's Word:
"If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord;  he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does"  --James 1:5-8.
