"The New Vest"

One of the kind gifts that I received during "Pastors' Appreciation Month" was a lovely, warm vest embossed with "Pastor Wes." on the upper lapel.
Thank you!

In the past week as I have been wearing this vest, it has opened up some interesting conversations and opportunities to listen and witness.
I find people generally look at the "Pastor Wes" and then go ahead and ask:
"Are you a Pastor?"  Perhaps they want to make sure I didn't steal the vest or am misrepresenting myself.

At Whole Foods, a young lady at the cash register asked where our church was located and then asked me to pray for her.  Next time I go to Whole Foods I will tell her I've been praying for her.

At the hardware store, a lady--after reassuring herself that I was indeed a Pastor--shared with me about her life for almost a half hour: her father's recent death, the refurbishment of his home, the need for spiritual house-cleaning

Maybe all Christians should get our clothes embossed with "Disciple of Jesus"!
Think of the doors that might open. 
In the meantime, "let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven."

Thanksgiving Sunday November 24
"Now thank we all our God, with heart and hands and voices..."

That is what we will be doing on Thanksgiving Sunday--thanking and praising God for Himself and His bountiful blessings! 
 
GCCN Thanksgiving Dinner Together
Following a special service of praise and thanksgiving, we will be having our annual GCCN Thanksgiving Dinner together.  Plan on celebrating together on this joyous occasion! Check with Sandi Weyna on how you can participate and assist in this wonderful time together. 
Thanksgiving Offering for World Missions
Our church will again bless many others through the Thanksgiving Offering for World Missions.  This is a wonderful way to support bringing the Gospel of Jesus Christ to people around the world. Our goal this year is higher than it has been in several years, but we can do it--$2000!   Pray for God's leading about what He would have you give to this vital offering! Please use one of the Thanksgiving Envelopes or mark it "Thanksgiving Offering for World Missions" as GCCN "

Our 2014 GCCN Church Directory is under production.  This Sunday, during the Thanksgiving Dinner time we will be taking pictures for the Church Directory and updating contact information.  See Pastor Matt for more information.
Teen News Now!
Happy WEDNES-DAY! Here's some teen news!

What an amazing time of worship on Sunday! Thanks to all who prayed and who took part. 

Tonight is a random questions night for youth group. We have a questions bucket filled with random questions about God. Join us at 7p to hear what the teens want to know.

Youth Group in 'da AM restarts in the book of Romans. We (re)tackle Romans chapter 1 and 2 this week!

On Friday and Saturday November 22-23, three of our teens will be participating in the yearly Philly District Festival of Life at Fairview Village COTN. Cheer us on in the different areas of competition as we try to qualify for Boston!

Learning More About Grace Community Church 
There will be "Introduction to Grace Community Church" classes during the coming month.  If you are interested in learning more about Grace Community Church--its beliefs, mission and vision--please respond here or speak with Pastor Wes. This overview takes about 4 hours.  This class also assists in understanding and becoming a full member of this local Church.

As we envision the next steps that God has for us as a Church, we seek people who know Christ and are committed to His Kingdom who would be willing to serve as leaders or as leader trainees.  If you would consider helping to shape the future and fulfill the mission God has for GCCN and you have a few hours a month to contribute to make difference, please respond here or speak with Pastor Wes.  Please pray about how God could work through you.  
Children's Bible Quizzing
Children's Bible Quizzing is off to a good start!  Thanks to Yvonne and Marly who are giving leadership for this vital ministry. Keep our kids in prayer as they study the book of Genesis.
