"Red Light"

I like driving at night. Me the open road, limited cars around and no one will look at me funny for car dancing.

I pulled up to the red light that is up the street from the church. There is no one around, but I have to wait for the red light to turn left onto Bull Run Road to go home. It's been about 90 seconds before I get a bright idea: 'It's Midnight, no one is around for miles, no one will know! Just make the left turn!"

I started to inch forward to the line and quickly stopped. I realized that I would know and more importantly God would know if I ran that light. It doesn't matter who is or isn't around, the rules of the road are to be followed at all times.

I had a God moment. I remembered something that a friend of mine told me: "True integrity is doing what is right when no one is around." Kind of like the children's conundrum: If a tree falls in the woods and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?

This challenged me to stand up for God and to obey His commands at all times, in all situations no matter what. No qualms, reservations, exceptions. All times.

What happens when you are at your red light?
