"Hurricane Sandy:

One Year Later"

It was one year ago this morning we emerged from our homes to see the impact of Hurricane Sandy.  The banner picture above shows some of the damage along GCCN church property at that time.

Tragically, over 280 people killed by the storm. The largest Atlantic hurricane on record, it has so far cost over 68 billion dollars of damage. Many coastal communities destroyed and some will need at least another year to recover.

Locally, thousands of trees down, widespread power outages for days and weeks.
But among the mess, there has been incredible kindness, generosity and assistance as people have come together, neighbor helping neighbor.

The same God who helped us through Hurricane Sandy can and will help His children through all the storms of life.  When we know Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, we can approach each day and each situation in the full confidence He will never leave or forsake us and that He will work things together for good.

He is indeed the Lord of all the storms!

Sunday, November 3
Matthew Manual
Last Sunday Mark shared a powerful testimony of what God has done in his heart this year and we were all blessed!   This coming Sunday is the last in the sermon series, "As You Go, Make Disciples." The focus this Sunday will be caring for new Christians as they begin their life in Christ.

Watch next week for "My Hope America with Billy Graham" presentations on national TV, particularly on November 7, 8, 9 & 10.   God will present opportunities for you to share your faith with those who are seeking if you allow Him.  Pray that many will be saved through this evangelism  and that lives will be transformed.  You can go to MyHopeAmerica.org to see times of broadcasts or to view the online option.
Children's Bible Quizzing Starts this Sunday!
Children's Quizzing is all about Bible study.  It is vitally important to help children know what the Bible says and help them demonstrate biblical teachings in actual life situations.  The goal of Children's Quizzing is for children to know the God of the Bible!

We are delighted to announce that Grace Community Church is beginning the Children's Quizzing program this Sunday night at 6:00 pm.  The text this year is Genesis. Open to all kids, ages 6-12,  grades 1-7.  Marly Paul and Yvonne Hurd are taking leadership with this vital ministry.
