"See You at the Pole"

A small group of teenagers in Burleson, Texas, came together for a weekend in early 1990. They came seeking God and on Saturday night their hearts were penetrated like never before, when they became broken before God and burdened for their friends. Compelled to pray, they drove to three different schools that night. Not knowing exactly what to do, they went to the school flagpoles and prayed for their friends, schools, and leaders.

God used what He did among those teenagers and others who were holding similar prayer meetings at their schools to birth a vision in the hearts of youth leaders. Their vision was that students would come to flagpoles to pray simultaneously.

On September 12, 1990, more than 45,000 teenagers met at school flagpoles in four different states to pray before the start of school. A year later, an estimated one million students gathered at school flagpoles all over the country. Like those first students, they prayed for their schools, for their friends, for their leaders, and for their country.

Today is "See You at the Pole Day."  Pray for students across this country to be transformed and empowered by Jesus Christ!

Sunday, September 29
This Sunday we will be celebrating Baptism of those who know Jesus Christ as Savior.  Baptism is an essential, Christ-directed step for every Christian and it is a joy to celebrate together!

Also this Sunday, we will be saying "Farewell" to Mike and Ginny O'Harold.  This dear couple have been a great blessing to Grace Community Church for the past 8 years and we are very grateful.  Mike has accepted a leadership position with a company in Roanoke, VA and will be beginning there next week.

Following this Sunday service, there will be a time of fellowship in honor of those baptized and also the O'Harolds.  We will continue with the sermon series, "As You Go, Make Disciples" the following Sunday, October 6th.

Children's Ministry, Shaping the Future!
Praise God for the wonderful children who are part of GCCN's ministry! Praise God for the wonderful response these past two Sundays for volunteers to assist with the Children's Ministry!

Thanks to your response, we can now begin a nursery, children's Bible quizzing, a new children's Sunday School class and improve our Children's Church.

We asked for 14 people who would pray daily for one child--that goal has been reached!   We asked for two nursery workers and that goal has been reached!  We could use one more Chldren's Church ministry leaders.  If you are able to help and have not yet had a chance to sign up, please let Pastor Wes know at RWTink01@gmail.com.  And....thank you!!
