Just as I sit to write this column, I find out that one of our church members is at the hospital for tests.  So as I head out, to be with her, let me give you much better words than mine from the Apostle, Paul: 
 
"Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-- if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-- think about such things.
 
And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.

Sunday, September 22: 
Matthew Manual
Someone close to you needs Jesus!  YOU can do something about it!

This coming Sunday will be the 2nd sermon in a 7-part sermon series entitled, "As You Go, Make Disciples."  This Sunday will be focused on the Holy Spirit working in us to point people to Jesus Christ.  Read through the Bible verses on pages 17 and 18 of your Matthew Manual in preparation for the next part of this series.

Grace Community Church is delighted to be hosting our second annual Conference for Men. This will be on Saturday, September 21, 2013 from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm.    Our Keynote Speaker will be Rev. Guess what day it is?! Guess what day it is!? Another blessed day to praise the Lord! Happy Wednesday, everyone! Here's your teen news...NOW!

Youth group continues tonight with our fall theme, Cross the Line. Tonight, we are talking about getting out of the boat. What in the world does that mean? Check out the church website with an intro to our series. Then join us at 7pm for some food, fellowship and some great discussion in the word of God!

District Festival of Life is coming up in November! Are you a singer, dancer, actor? Maybe you like to write or draw? How about playing volleyball or basketball. Do you really like math and science? Contact Pastor Matt at matthew.a.brown615@gmail.com for more information.

Children's Ministry, Shaping the Future!  
Praise God for the wonderful children who are part of GCCN's ministry! Praise God for the wonderful response these past two Sundays for volunteers to assist with the Children's Ministry! 
 
Thanks to your response, we can now begin a nursery, children's Bible quizzing, a new children's Sunday School class and improve our Children's Church. 
 
We asked for 14 people who would pray daily for one child--that goal has been reached!   We asked for two nursery workers and that goal has been reached!  We could use one more Chldren's Church ministry leaders.  If you are able to help and have not yet had a chance to sign up, please let Pastor Wes know at RWTink01@gmail.com.  And....thank you!! 
One Day District Training Event, "Momentum"
 
Will you be participating in Children's Bible Quizzing?  Do you want to help people struggling with addiction?  Are you feeling called to be more effective in discipling others?

Philadelphia Love Park, Gospel Rama 

Gospel Rama  will bring its musical celebration of the Lord's love to Philadelphia's Love Park on September 28. This year's performers include American Idol alumni Sean Michel, The Messenger, David Latham & The Strangers, Waiting For The Flood,  Scott Karge,  Red Baron,  and Virtuous.  

 

This ministry feeds the homeless on the streets of Philadelphia.  Visit www.gospelrama.org  or Michael Mazur (609) 462-9905.  Michael has been very instrumental in making this event an outstanding success!  Support as you are able.
