"TURNCOATS AND TRAITORS"

Edward Snowden has recently been added to the list of people entrusted with America's secrets but who decided to "spill the beans" and tell
the world what they know.  Bradley Manning is currently on trial for releasing hundreds of thousands of classified military documents.

Sixty years ago today Julius and Ethel Rosenberg were executed for passing US atomic plans to the Soviets.

One of the most famous of this genre was Benedict Arnold, the Continental Army general who defected to the British during the War of Independence and almost turned the fort at West Point over to the British.

Being a turncoat or traitor has a long history and will continue to happen as long as this world lasts.  Certainly Judas Iscariot is the most well known example from the Bible.

In virtually every case, people do this not because they seek to be evil, but because they believe what they are doing is right, honorable and ethical.
God and history will decide for each of these.

We live in a time when many who reject God's teaching are deceived into thinking they are doing the right and better thing.  Our adversary, satan, is indeed crafty!

We are told by Jesus that in the last days to be be careful that "no one deceives you...that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other...because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved.
(Matthew 24:4-12)
Celebration of Graduates this Sunday
2013 Grad
Our congratulations to the young people of Grace Community Church who are graduating!  Amanda Bayne, Jon Feehan, Caitlyn Hamilton, Irene Lai, Joyce Lai and Rebecca Paul. This Sunday we will be honoring God and what He is doing in the lives of these young people.   Bring cards of congratulations as you are able. Following the morning service, there will be time of fellowship in honor of these students.

Shaping the Future: Children's Ministry
If a child is not introduced to Jesus Christ by age 12, there is an 80% chance they will never come to know Jesus Christ as their own Savior and Lord! How vital that we bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to children when their minds and hearts are open!

This Saturday, June 22, there will be a "Shaping the Future" conference--a meeting of all who are committed to ministry to children. We will pray, brainstorm and plan our next steps of ministry to children at GCCN.  Starts at 1:30 pm. All welcome!

Tea and Inspiration is a delightful time for women to take a break and to nourish their mind, body and soul.  It's a time to connect with other women and to reflect on God's blessings and the replenishment that He alone can bring.

We have an opportunity for Tea and Inspiration at the end of June. Our special speaker will be Kerry Powell, from Royersford, PA. Kerry is a wife, mother, teacher and worship leader. Right now, God is placing a new calling upon Kerry's life and her insights will be a blessing to you as she shares her testimony and journey.

This will be on Saturday, June 29 at 2 pm at the tearoom "Paint the Roses" in Hopewell Borough.  To register for this, please contact Sarah Tink by email here.
