From Pastor Wes
When you think of truly great people during the past 100 years, who comes to your mind? Which people have made a lasting contribution that has changed lives and the world for the better?
The name "Billy Graham" would be near the top of the list for many. Graham has been on Gallup's list of most admired men and women 55 times since 1955, more than any other individual in the world. I doubt that impresses him. His life has been about serving Jesus Christ. Dr. Graham has been a spiritual adviser to a long series of United States Presidents. During the civil rights movement, he initiated integrated seating for his revivals and crusades. In 1957 he invited the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. to preach jointly at a revival in New York City, where they appeared together at Madison Square Garden. Also, Graham bailed Dr. King out of jail in the 1960s when he was arrested in demonstrations. Literally billions have heard Billy Graham preach. It is calculated that more than 3.2 million people have responded to invitations at Billy Graham Crusades to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.
At 95 years of age, there are no more large Billy Graham crusades. But Dr. Graham is working on one more outreach to win souls to Jesus Christ! I invite you to be part of it during the months ahead. Your prayer and love for others can make an eternal difference in the life of someone you care about! Please pray for God to work through you to reach others for Jesus Christ! "I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes..." Romans 1:16

"Perfect as Your Heavenly Father Is"?
"Nobody's perfect!" That's a common saying--and it's true! But Jesus said "Be perfect even as your heavenly Father is perfect" --and that's true too! How can these two totally contradictory sayings both be true?
This word "perfect" has been misunderstood and has been a stumbling block within the Christian community for generations. Our Lord would not give us a command unless it were possible. As we come to the last sermon in the current series "God's Call to Holiness!" Pastor Wes will lead us in a biblical study of the "perfect" that God calls us to. Please be in prayer for this important sermon on the first Sunday of May. |

"My Hope"--Reaching People for Jesus
"My Hope America with Billy Graham" is a nationwide outreach to people across the United States with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. .Grace Community Church will be actively involved in this. More details to follow! Pray for souls! |
Mother's Day Happenings On Mother's Day, May 12th, after an uplifting and blessed worship time together, there will be three special additions:
1.) There will be a gift for every lady in attendance
2.) We will be taking a GCCN full-church group photograph of everyone in attendance. Remember seeing those pictures from days gone past when the whole church gathered for one photograph? Beginning this Mother's Day, we're starting an annual tradition of a yearly GCCN whole-Church photograph. This will help all of us to get to know one another. Don't miss being part of the GCCN 2013 Church picture!
3.) There will be a Mother's Day church dinner provided by Roger and Yvonne! This will immediately follow the Church photo. All are welcome! Come and enjoy, stay and fellowship! |
Grace Card Front At District Assembly last week, we learned that of all the people in church, only 2% came because of advertising. Six percent came because a church staff person invited them. And another 6% came because of a special outreach service or event. In contrast to that, the remaining 86% came because they were invited by a friend or family member who attended that church! YOUR influence matters! |
Grace Card Back Because YOUR family and friends are influenced by YOU, we've had these attractive "Grace Cards" made up for you to carry with you.
Anytime you have a conversation and your faith or Church comes up in the discussion, you can just hand your friend a copy of this card and it gives them much information about where we are, who we are and where we are located. Not only does the back side have a map and directions, it also has a QR code that will take those who have smart phones immediately to the Grace Community website. We have plenty of these cards. Take as many as you want as often as you need. Your action may change a life forever! Pray that God will work through YOU! |
