"The
Risen Christ"

Following the great miracle of the  resurrection of Jesus, each of the Gospel accounts gives us insight about those days  before Jesus was taken into heaven.  The Gospel of John gives us the fullest account the resurrected Jesus.

Luke presents a very detailed account of Jesus on the road to Emmaeus with two disciples and how He traveled with Him but they did not recognize Him for much of their time together.

A quick survey of the four accounts appears to show that Jesus was not known and recognized by anyone except those who were willing to believe.  No accounts here of Jesus meeting with the scribes and Pharisees.

We may be tempted to say "If only He had gone again to the Temple, shown Himself to the religious leaders then they would have to believe!"  But apparently He didn't.
"If only He had gone back now to Pilate and Herod, then they would have no choice but to believe in Him."  But He didn't.

Although the risen Christ appeared to more than 500 people, it appears He only appeared to those who were willing to believe.  Even "doubting Thomas" wanted to believe, but like us, needed some proof.

God has prescribed that faith is always an aspect of Christian belief.  He will not answer all of our questions and doubts, but if our hearts and minds are open, He will give us the all the assurance we need to continue to step forward in faith with Him
God's Call to Holiness!
OakOfRighteousness
This Sunday, we will be returning to the series of what the Bible says about authentic Christianity.  Pastor Wes will be speaking on God's desire and direction for a holy Church--people together in community living out the teachings, spirit and mission God has given.

In preparation for Sunday, please take a few minutes and read chapter 17 of the Gospel of John.  Pray that God will accomplish His will in our lives and His Church.
Ravi Zacharias--This Friday!
You are invited to attend a lecture given by international apologist and evangelist Dr. Ravi Zacharias on the topic of Christianity: A Reasonable Choice.   Grace Community Church is one of over 30 churches and ministries supporting this special event.  The live venue at Princeton Alliance Church has been sold out, but Ravi's teaching will be streamed live to multiple satellite venues across the Mercer County. Go to RaviLive.com to select a location to attend this event.  Some from GCCN will be going to Princeton Meadow Church for this event.
