From Pastor Wes
"Suffering and Glory"
This Sunday, we remember and celebrate the miracle of the resurrection of Jesus Christ! For a host of reasons, Christ breaking forth out of the tomb of death is the highlight of our Christian calendar and the core of Christian faith. It is all-too-easy to go from the rejoicing of Palm Sunday to the celebration of Easter forgetting the tragedy of Good Friday. There is no triumph without that tragedy. There is no resurrection without death. There is no Savior without sacrifice. There is no Christian faith without the cross! We long to go straight from mountaintop to mountaintop. But the path inevitably leads through valleys--sometimes very dark and difficult valleys. But is in the valleys also where God accomplishes so much of His good and necessary work in our lives. His work for us and for others. It is how we handle the valleys--including the valley of the shadow of death--that opens the door for His new and effective work in our lives. "But rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed. If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you." 1 Peter 4:13-14 |

Final Good News
God says: "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. 10 That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong." 2 Corinthians 12:9-10
