From Pastor Wes
"Black Smoke, White Smoke and Twitter"
Watching the news these days, you can't miss the fact that the Roman Catholic Cardinals are in the process of selecting a new pope.
The results of the ballots will be transmitted from inside the Sistine Chapel outside to St. Peter's Square by means of smoke drifting out of one lonely smokestack, placed there for just that occasion.
Dark smoke signals indicate that the ballot did not result in an election, while white smoke signals announce that a new pope has been chosen.
Meanwhile outside, hoards of reporters connected with video and cells phones, twitter accounts and satellites will transmit within seconds to the entire world the election of a new pope.
How fascinating that the ancient practice of smoke signals combines with nanosecond technology to spread the word!
Spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ always involves the message and some methods. The message never changes. The methods do. The message is as old as the earth-- Jesus Christ is the one and Savior of humanity and He invites every single person into His Kingdom as a child of the Almighty God! Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and the life! (John 14:6) The method of getting that message to people takes a vast multitudes of forms: languages, technologies, countless forms. Let God use whatever method He chooses through you to see lives transformed by the message! |

God's Call to Holiness!
Last Sunday morning we saw from the life of King David how God sanctifies our lives and brings us to an authentic life of holiness. David not only sought forgiveness from God, but transformation! It is God's will that every Christian live with clean hands and pure heart--and with God, all things are possible!
This coming Sunday, Pastor Wes will lead us through a biblical overview of holiness in daily life. Please take some time to read the 12th chapter of Romans in preparation for our lesson on Sunday. You don't want to miss this next sermon in this important series of what God's great love and mercy accomplishes!

Final Good News
The Apostle Paul wrote: " I have written you quite boldly on some points, as if to remind you of them again, because of the grace God gave me to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles with the priestly duty of proclaiming the gospel of God, so that the Gentiles might become an offering acceptable to God, sanctified by the Holy Spirit." --Romans 15:15-16
