"The Bible in Tough Places"

If you are one of those who  signed up to read through the Bible this year, right now you're probably having a challenge doing it each day.

Leviticus.  These are difficult and repetitive portions.  You may be getting tired of Instructions on how to build the tabernacle , how to sacrifice the animals--and oh, all those details about the clothing the priests wear.

You may be asking "What does this have to do with my life?"   You may be tempted even to give up and come back  to it in May or June when things get more interesting.

Don't give up!

Hang in there!

While going through these portions it helps to pray: "Lord, give me at least one thought in this passage that helps me to know You better or to understand life better."  He cares about the small details about your life!

For example, about those tabernacle instructions about what materials to use and the detailed measurements, it shows us that the Almighty God is concerned about all the details of life.  He is no deist God who created and then departed.

"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,  so that the people of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."

1 Timothy 3:16-17

God's Call to Holiness!
OakOfRighteousness

So what does an authentic, holy, Christian life look like?  Is it long hair on women and short hair on men? Is it a matter of clothing, leisure or language? Is it how many times a person goes to church in a week? What is the vision that we plant in our mind and aim towards?

This Sunday Pastor Wes will lead us in a study of the vision of daily life that the Bible gives us regarding holiness. You'll benefit from this installment in this important series of what God seeks to do in our lives as we respond to His leading.

Men, in the interests of making the best use of your time, next Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. we will be covering both Session #15 and #16.  These two sessions lay the foundation for a biblical understanding of manhood by beginning with the Creation and the Book of Genesis.  To get these two sessions both in, we need to begin promptly at 7:00, so please come a few minutes early.  This is getting into "the meat" of this series and will be of good use and understanding for you.

Final Good News
As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame." For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile-- the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."  --Romans 10:11-13
