"So Fast!"
Yesterday, I was reminded how very quickly life can change.
A son told me about his father not feeling well last week so they went for medical tests. The father was diagnosed with leukemia on Friday and died on Monday. What a great shock to the whole family!
Sometimes life seems to move at a snail's pace, little change, little that is new. At other times it is like being in the currents of Niagara Falls-- the overpowering forces change everything so very quickly.
Jesus instructed us again and again the parables about this aspect of life. In one story he told about 10 bridesmaids for whom life was moving so slowly that they all fell asleep. Then, suddenly, everything changed and there was great urgency to every moment. For all of them, it had been a quiet time. But only 5 of them had prepared for the moments of urgency that were sure to come.
In another passage, Jesus teaches that our choices in this life come to an end as a "thief in the night"-- at a time when we least expect it.
When all is the same, nothing special seems to be happening. Then suddenly, everything changes.
Aren't you glad Jesus instructs us so that we can be prepared? God offers salvation from death through Jesus Christ so we can be prepared for whatever life brings.
Are you prepared?
One day, suddenly, everything is going to change very quickly.
If Jesus Christ is truly our Savior and Lord, that will be the best day we will ever experience.
But if we are not prepared for that ultimate change--how incredibly tragic and hopeless it will be!
Are YOU ready?

"God's Call to Holiness!"
"Oaks of righteousness." Authentic. Genuine. Holy. Is it even possible in this life? Doesn't the Bible say "there are none righteous, no, not even one"? Why think about something that is not even possible?
This past Sunday Pastor Wes began as sermon series that showed from Scripture that God is absolute holiness and that He alone is the only foundation of all holiness or any hope of holiness
This coming Sunday we will look at some whom God called "holy" and see scriptures where He extends that invitation to all.
There are three main goals for this sermon series:
1.) For each person to gain deeper understanding of holiness.
2.) For each person to gain deeper experience of holiness.
3.) For each person to be able to articulate holiness to others.
Please pray that these goals will be accomplished.

We need your participation! We are looking for 15 more people who will pledge $2.00 per day for 2013.
