From Summers Farm gaining national media attention for their Taylor Swift corn maze to students settling back in at Hood College, signs of fall in Frederick are all around us. For The City's Department of Economic Development, fall is a time to keep projects moving forward. The hotel project, in particular, is advancing although much of the work is behind the scenes. Financing and public infrastructure are at the forefront of the discussions of this catalytic public-private project. As we prepare for the 2016 legislative session in Annapolis, efforts to update key state leadership about the project are underway. The project will keep moving forward, and we can't wait to welcome a new full-service hotel in Downtown Frederick.
Best,
Richard G. Griffin, AICP, CEcD
