In 1862 Oliver Wendell Holmes observed that Frederick was "poetical" place where "seers and dreamers" might dwell. That still holds true today. Frederick is full of people pursuing their passions, whether it be in a career or giving back to the community. The people that live, work, and invest here make Frederick a special place.

It is no surprise that Frederick was named one of the "10 Best Places Near Washington, D.C. for Young Professionals" and ranked one of the 2nd smartest cities in America by Forbes.com. Your friends and neighbors might be teachers, artists, scientists, or IT professionals. Over 95% of Frederick businesses are small businesses, so chances are you know an entrepreneur or two as well.

Part of our mission is to help spread the word that Frederick is a place where professionals and businesses can thrive.  To that end, we have a new video, "Work Where There's Room to Play," that showcases the opportunities Frederick offers. The three-minute video will debut prior to the feature film on August 21st during the Movie Night on the Creek. We hope you can join us.
