Greetings!

Jacksonville Port Ministries

We were privileged to have the Women on Mission group from First Baptist Church Palm Coast in May. We had a lovely visit with them and they brought us some donations that we so appreciate. Let us know if you would like to visit us and do a tour of the Seaman's Center at Blount Island.

We continue to receive financial gifts from churches for which we are very grateful. We're also thankful for donations from Southside Baptist Church, Kings Road Baptist Church, Arlington Baptist Church and we received more crocheted hats from Tresa Sasser and Dorothy Ryan from Lake Shore Baptist Church. We also received more salvation bracelets from Lake Shore Baptist Church Women on Mission. Sorry if we missed anyone! We appreciate all the donations, gifts, financial support, and especially your prayers.

We are also grateful for the invitations to speak and remind you that we would be happy to come to your church as well. It is always our joy to share about the Port Ministry.

We are in the process of incorporating the Jacksonville Port Ministries. We will continue to partner with the Jacksonville Baptist Association and churches can continue to drop off their donations at the JBA office. Thanks to our financial donors and in the future, please make your checks payable to Jacksonville Port Ministries, Inc. and send the contributions to Chaplain Calvin Reid, 4704 Lighthouse Lane, Hilliard, FL 32046. Thanks for your continued support!

Jacksonville Cruise
Ministry Updates

One of our ministry goals for this year is to be more available to crew members. You might think, how can you do that? Thanks for asking!

As we are talking to our international friends, and they ask us to please pray for their children, the chaplains ask specifically what the need is. One crew member shared that she has three boys, two teenagers and one in college studying computers.  She said one of the younger boys likes to play videos games rather than study, and the other son has excellent study habits and makes good grades. Now we could have said, yes we will pray, and gone about our merry way, or we could have paused and joined her in prayer for her and her family as she requested. Which do you think would have had the greater impact on her? If you said, to pause and pray for her need, you are correct.  Our team prays before going aboard the ship that the Lord Jesus will send someone in our path that we may minister to. Without a doubt, He will send someone to us that we can minister to just as He did today. Our Heavenly Father loves her and her children just as He loves the one who is reading this.

Thank you for your continued prayer support of this ministry.  If you would like to send a donation for support this ministry.  Please send it to the Jacksonville Baptist Association.
