jba-NETWORK
June 21 2015

Greetings!

The Added Value of a Network

The JBA EngageJax network exists to connect the mission force with the mission field. We are a group of churches helping each other prevail, multiply and mobilize deeper, wider and further into the Great Commission. As you can see, the local church is the focus of everything we do as a network. There is real, demonstrated value in collaboration, and without our network we believe the mission force in Jax would be smaller, weaker and less connected to the mission field.  Why?  Because we are better together!  Here are a few examples of how the JBA network adds value to our common effort:

1. We have seen 12 churches participate in a year-long church revitalization journey. The pastors of these churches have supported each other, prayed together and sharpened each other's thinking and leadership.  As a result, they have each developed and are implementing initiatives to bring new health and growth into their congregation. These pastors are each coached and supported by additional JBA EngageJax pastors who meet with them monthly for counsel, prayer and encouragement. This is a great example of church leaders investing in church leaders for the sake of Kingdom advance in the region.

2. We regularly connect churches who seek to partner through collaborative efforts in church revitalization and church restarts. In the past three years the JBA network has been the primary connection for seven church partnerships where two churches partner together to strengthen or restart a declining church. While these autonomous congregations choose to enter into these partnerships, none of them would have occurred if the JBA network had not been a relational connector to engage in the process. The end result is that there are seven growing churches in our city where once there were seven declining churches.

3. Because our network is continuously researching the Northeast Florida mission field, we are able to bring opportunities for missions engagement to the awareness of our member churches. Many new school partnerships, apartment community connections and ministry among the international populations have increased because of this sustained emphasis on researching and building bridges into our communities.

4.  Over the past four years, our network has grown.  We added 34 new congregations to our participating church roster. Most of these are brand new churches who are supported, coached, resourced and assessed by existing churches.  We have also seen existing legacy churches outside our network seek to join in with SBC causes here and around the world. Because of this, we have greater diversity and a broader missional reach than ever before.

Just a reminder that all of this is accomplished with a small, focused staff team and a small, but sufficient budget.  These staff and resources do not exist on their own, but are an extension of the member churches of the JBA EngageJax network. We are seeing great Kingdom results with only modest investment of Kingdom resources.

So there is value added to the churches by being connected through the JBA. Remember, when you connect with others in Kingdom effort, you enlarge your net.  You can always catch more fish with a bigger net!

**Please see in the calendar section above

that our JBA Leadership Team has recently decided and approved a new office schedule and the JBA offices will no longer be open on Fridays.  By doing this, we believe we can still provide the same high level of church resourcing while controlling our administration costs.  This change will take effect July 1st.
