PATRICK CHAPIN RESIGNS AS PRESIDENT/CEO
|
Patrick Chapin, today, announced his resignation as the President/CEO of the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce, effective June 15, 2016. He's accepted the role of CEO for Business High Point, Inc., the merged entity of the High Point Chamber of Commerce and High Point Partners in High Point, NC.
"It has been an honor and privilege to be part of the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce," said Chapin, adding, "I have been extremely fortunate to work with countless members and volunteers who have become important friends and mentors to me."
He went on to say he is especially proud of our collective efforts as a 'Chamber of Community' to improve the business environment and quality of life in Winter Park, adding that the Chamber staff are all wonderful, talented, caring and giving people.
| Michelle, Sarah, & Patrick Chapin |
Chapin has served the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce since January 2010, with a focus on partnership, innovation and community. Some of his major accomplishments include Feed the Need Winter Park, the community-wide initiative to raise $300,000 ($2.7 million in food value) in three years to support Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida, establishing the Leadership Winter Park Legacy Fund, advocating for SunRail in Winter Park and, recently, donating a kidney to a chamber member.
Chamber members and the community have watched his daughter, Sarah, grow up, and supported his family's Purple Lemonade Stand to raise funds for Sanfilippo Syndrome, which are memories he will always cherish.
"We wish Patrick the best in his new endeavor and look forward to continuing to support our local business community in the months and years ahead," said Lou Nimkoff, Winter Park Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors Chairman.
The organization's board of directors will commence a search process.
