WINTER ON THE AVENUE
The Winter Park Chamber of Commerce has partnered with the City of Winter Park, Park Avenue Merchants Association, Enzian Theater and Central Florida Community Arts to kickoff the holidays in Winter Park on Friday, December 4, 2015. Presented by Westminster Winter Park, the event will transform Park Avenue and Central Park into a pedestrian plaza with a flurry of holiday fun from 5 - 10 p.m.
*Please note, Park Avenue will be closed to vehicular traffic beginning at 3 p.m. New England Avenue will remain open to east-west traffic only.
Come experience the best of downtown Winter Park this holiday season. Activities will include:
- Tree lighting
- Caroling procession
- Merchant open house
- Ice skating
- Holiday Jazz
- Visits with Santa

PANCAKES & PARADE
Two holiday traditions continue on Saturday, December 5 with the Leadership Winter Park Pancake Breakfast presented by Fannie Hillman + Associates and Florida Power & Light. Pancakes, sausage, coffee, orange juice and an array of toppings will be available from 7 - 10:30 a.m. at the Central Park Stage. Tickets and details here.
The 63rd Annual Winter Park "Ye Olde Hometown" Christmas Parade presented by Bright House Networks makes its way down Park Avenue beginning at 9 a.m. Featuring 100 marching units, the parade will spread cheer to the young and young at heart.

This is your chance to reconnect with your class, network will fellow alumni and serve up some good old fashioned holiday cheer for hungry families before the Winter Park "Ye Olde Hometown" Pancake Breakfast.
Shifts are available before, during and after the parade.
Celebrate the holidays with Leadership Winter Park! The 23rd Annual Holiday Luncheon will bring together Class XXVI members and alumni for a special event to reflect on the year and remember those in need.
Hear from Mark Brewer, President & CEO, Central Florida Foundation, a bout the role of philanthropy in drawing communities together to solve complex social problems. He will leave you intrigued and inspired about your opportunity to create change! Cost: $25 individuals / $250 corporate table. Register here.
Adopt-a-Family Program Each year, Leadership Winter Park teams up with the Winter Park Housing Authority to provide a joyous holiday for families in need in our community. You can bring excitement and relief to deserving families by providing a toy or clothing for a child. Items will be collected at the Holiday Luncheon or may be dropped off at the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce until December 14. Gifts should be UNWRAPPED and labeled with the child's name. In lieu of a gift, you may also donate funds which will be used to purchase grocery store gift cards for the family. Make checks payable to Winter Park Improvement Foundation. The Park Avenue Merchants Association consists of Central Business District merchants and non-retail members committed to the betterment of the Park Avenue area.
MERCHANT OPEN HOUSE
The holiday open house will be held during Winter on the Avenue on Friday, December 4. Merchants are encouraged to stay open late and offer holiday refreshments in your store during the event. Customers can also vote in the holiday window contest that evening using a simple text-to-vote system.
There will be no PAMA AM meeting in December. Happy holidays!

Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Gardens: The Historic Capen-Showalter House is now open for public tours. The half-hour tours are held twice a week: Wednesdays at 11:30 a.m. and Sundays at 2:30 p.m., subject to availability. Tour prices are included in the cost of general admission: adults $5; seniors (60+) $4; students (age 12 through college) $3; members and children under 12 are free. Tour times are subject to cancellation to accommodate event rentals. The museum recommends that guests call the museum at 407-647-6294 to confirm availability.
City of Winter Park: The League of American Bicyclists has recognized Winter Park as a Bronze Level Bicycle Friendly Community. The four-year designation, received after careful review of the city's application materials and consultation with local cyclists, is presented only to communities with strong commitments to bicycling.
Full Sail University: WWE recently announced it awarded four $10,000 scholarships to four Full Sail University students. The students were selected for exhibiting exceptional professionalism, creative talent and maintaining good academic standing, while shadowing professional WWE staff and crew during the production of NXT® events at Full Sail University.
Murrah Doyle Wigle & Torre P.A.: Founding partner, Kenneth F. Murrah, Esq., was posthumously awarded the Outstanding Philanthropist award at the Association of Fundraising Professionals' (Central Florida Chapter) National Philanthropy Day last month. The award was also renamed in Murrah's honor and will be now be referred to as the "Kenneth F. Murrah, Esq. Award for Outstanding Philanthropist."
Winter Park Memorial Hospital: Volunteers needed! You are invited to participate in a once in a lifetime opportunity to perform in a collegiate bowl game halftime show during the AutoNation Cure Bowl presented by Florida Hospital! We are recruiting breast cancer survivors, their loved ones, as well as caregivers to be a part of this amazing event on Saturday, December 19. Each participant will stand together on the field and perform a simple walking formation to spell out the word CURE and form a Pink Ribbon.
